I’ve just gotten a peek at the latest images unveiled from the TV series adaptation of John Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga, which offers a fresh perspective on Millie Gibson, who plays Doctor Who in this production, as well as the rest of the talented cast.
In the series, Gibson, portraying Irene Heron, shares screen time with Joshua Orpin (known from Home and Away), who plays Soames Forsyte. Additional notable actors include Danny Griffin (Fate: The Winx Saga) as Jolyon Forsyte Jr, Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey: A New Era) as Frances Forsyte, and Eleanor Tomlinson (The Couple Next Door) as Louisa Byrne.
Additionally, we find Stephen Moyer (known for True Blood) portraying Jolyon Forsyte Senior and Jack Davenport (recognized from The Assassin) stepping into the role of James Forsyte, completing our principal ensemble.
The upcoming series, airing on 5 this fall, is described as a lavish period drama focusing on themes of desire, ambition, and deceit. It explores the romantic relationships, familial ties, and aspirations of the Forsytes, a notable upper-class family in Victorian-era London.
This show draws inspiration from ‘The Forsyte Saga’ novels, which have been adapted under the same name before. Unlike previous versions, this fresh interpretation delves into events preceding those depicted in Galsworthy’s timeless works, with a strong emphasis on romantic themes.

Previously, the story of the Forsyte Saga had been transformed into a 10-part television production on ITV, featuring Damian Lewis and Gina McKee in lead roles.
