The much-anticipated movie adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club is nearly here! It’s set to hit UK cinemas slightly ahead of its Netflix premiere.
In the upcoming weeks, numerous fresh images are being unveiled, offering glimpses into the characters played by Helen Mirren as Elizabeth, Pierce Brosnan as Ron, Ben Kingsley as Ibrahim, and Celia Imrie as Joyce.
In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to catch Naomi Ackie as Donna, Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Bogdan, along with the debut appearances of David Tennant as Ian, Daniel Mays as Chris, and Tom Ellis as Jason.
The pictures were unveiled together with a fresh trailer that showcases lots of new scenes and gives a proper introduction to some of the secondary characters.
Elizabeth (Mirren), Ron (Brosnan), Ibrahim (Kingsley), and Joyce (Imrie). Instead of idling away their time during retirement, they amuse themselves by investigating unsolved murder mysteries.

As an unexplained death happens right at their front door, their initial curiosity leads them down an exciting path, uncovering a genuine mystery that they must solve.

The movie is directed by Chris Columbus, known for directing the initial two Harry Potter movies, as well as Mrs. Doubtfire and Home Alone.
He’s shown a keen desire to continue the storyline, potentially developing it further from the subsequent books written by Osman.

Earlier this year, he shared with Collider that Richard Osman’s writing allowed him to assemble one of the most talented acting groups I’ve collaborated with since the Harry Potter series.
Bringing this movie to life has been a dream come true for me. I sincerely hope that I’ll have the opportunity to create a follow-up, perhaps even multiple sequels.
