As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about my favorite racing game, Forza Motorsport! After rumors swirling around last month about its potential demise due to staff reductions at Turn 10 Studios, it seems there’s a glimmer of hope.
Turn 10 Studios has just dropped an update on future content for our beloved game, which is music to our ears. They’ve introduced the Track Toys Tour, complete with all its new features, and they’ve hinted at a Ringer Tour scheduled for September! This means that, at least for now, it looks like Forza updates are still in the pipeline, filling us gamers with hope that maybe, just maybe, this series isn’t as close to its end as we thought. Here’s to keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best!
On social media platform X, the official Forza Motorsport account eased player worries about the game’s future, confirming their commitment to ongoing support for the racing simulator.
To our valued Forza Community, we understand that you have queries about the future of the Forza series. We want to express our gratitude for your unwavering support. Rest assured, both Turn 10 and Playground Games will keep working on Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.
The future of the popular racing game series, Forza Motorsport, which is created by Turn 10 and published by Xbox Game Studios, faced uncertainty last month following rumors of job losses and comments from a former employee indicating that these layoffs might have potentially ended the series.
According to a post by Fred Russell on Facebook dated July 3rd, Turn 10 Studios has closed down the Forza Motorsport division, which means the team is no longer in operation. This news is unfortunate as Forza Motorsport is known for being one of the top car racing video games, and working there was something Fred enjoyed greatly.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel the chill of uncertainty that swept through our community when Microsoft announced major layoffs in July, impacting around 9,000 employees. This move left us concerned, given Microsoft’s recent string of studio closures. Last year alone, they shut down several game studios, including the talented teams behind Redfall (developed by Arkane Austin) and HiFi Rush (Tango Gameworks).
Despite the somber atmosphere following the departure of studio members, Turn 10 remained optimistic about upcoming content updates for Forza Motorsport. Not only are they planning to unveil fresh tournament content for players, but they’ll also regularly kick off a new tour at the start of every month.
In addition to fresh tour content, players now have the opportunity to acquire rewards that were once exclusive, thanks to an enlarged Challenge Hub. This expansion introduces a variety of new reward vehicles. Among these are:
- 1998 Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R: Available Now
- 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe: Available Now
- 1974 Porsche #1 911 RSR: Available September 3rd
I hope we’ll ever see a new Forza Motorsport entry in the future

The recent upgrade for “Forza Motorsport” has rekindled fans’ enthusiasm for the game, but the creators haven’t definitively confirmed if Microsoft intends to carry on with the series past this version. Additionally, they didn’t mention whether any additional downloadable content or significant updates are in the works for the 2023 release.
