The Terminal List Spinoff Stars Are Already Teasing Season 2

The popular Prime Video series, “The Terminal List,” drew viewers in with its gripping tale of revenge, prompting Prime Video to delve deeper into author Jack Carr’s universe. This exploration starts with the prequel series, “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf,” a unique story co-created with Carr that delves into the pasts of characters who operate in the shadows of James Reece’s world. For example, the prequel will introduce characters such as Raife (Tom Hooper) and CIA contractor Jules Landry (Luke Hemsworth). In an exclusive chat with ComicBook, Hooper and Hemsworth shared details about their roles in the prequel, hinting that their story isn’t finished yet, and suggesting a substantial role in the second season of the main series, which is now being produced and will be based on Carr’s second book, “True Believer.

Hooper shared that we both have substantial roles in “True Believer,” which we’ve been filming over the past few months. Fans who are eager to see more of our characters post-“Dark Wolf” will get their wish in “True Believer.” Hooper was also very complimentary about the show’s second season, stating that fans will be delighted with “True Believer” and it truly reflects the book.

In Carr’s books, Jules Landry serves as a primary adversary for James Reece (Chris Pratt) in “True Believer.” He’s a once-proud SEAL turned CIA contractor who becomes antagonistic. On the other hand, Raife Hastings is another former SEAL and a loyal friend of Reece, but his character doesn’t take center stage until the third book, “Savage Son.” By ensuring both characters will feature prominently in the adaptation of “True Believer,” the creative team demonstrates their dedication to blending the prequel series with the main storyline smoothly.

The Terminal List Universe Keeps Expanding

Regarding The Terminal List’s first season, it received a mixed response from critics but enjoyed incredible success on streaming platforms, solidifying its status as a beloved show among viewers and inspiring Prime Video and the creative team to envision larger-scale plans. In an interview with ComicBook, Carr expressed his intention to transform the third book in the series, Savage Son, into a theatrical film. This goal demonstrates a clear ambition to expand the franchise beyond streaming, making one of the saga’s most popular books a significant cinematic event. Moreover, Carr has been diligently working on the next book, Cry Havoc, which serves as a prequel focusing on James Reece’s father during the Vietnam War.

The growth of the franchise extends beyond just the initial show and possible movies. In addition to the upcoming second season of “The Terminal List,” there’s a prequel series titled “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.” This series takes place five years prior to the first season and delves into Ben Edwards’ (Taylor Kitsch) transformation from a Navy SEAL to a CIA paramilitary operative. It also sheds light on the roots of the conspiracy that James Reece later uncovers. Meanwhile, it’s possible that “Dark Wolf” may get a sequel as well, with Carr contemplating adapting the prequel series for continuation.

Originally, I was intending to adapt the scripts into a novel and release it simultaneously with the series, as that would have been quite engaging. However, due to a change in plans, I won’t disclose the new one now. As we approach the possibility of a second season for Dark Wolf, my new plan becomes crucial because once you reach the end, it becomes clear there are more paths to traverse as we delve deeper into the character of Ben Edwards.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf premieres on Prime Video on August 27th.
