James Gunn has verified that the sequel for Superman will fall under the “Superman Chronicles”, as outlines for the subsequent narrative have been finished already.
According to a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn disclosed that he had completed the initial draft for the next installment of what he refers to as the “Superman Saga.
The treatment has been completed, indicating an extensively developed version. I’m currently refining it, and I anticipate moving into the production phase soon, not too long after today.
In order to avoid revealing any specific plot points or fan questions, it can be said that Coreyswet is set to wear the renowned suit again, hinting at his character’s return.
James Gunn is an unstoppable force in the world of filmmaking, as Supergirl is set to take flight on screens in June 2026, and Peacemaker season 2, currently airing, will serve a pivotal role in linking the narrative threads of the DC Universe.
Superman plays a significant role in the series ‘Peacemaker’, as stated by Gunn. It’s crucial to note that this isn’t designed for children; rather, Superman sets the stage for this show, and the setup of the rest of the DC Universe within ‘Peacemaker’ is vital in this season.
He went on to say: “Many familiar faces from Superman will be appearing as guest stars in upcoming episodes, and I can’t think of a season I’ve worked on that I’ve enjoyed more than this one of Peacemaker. I am absolutely thrilled for audiences to finally see it.
Instead of saying John Cena backed it up, he emphasized that Season 2 of Peacemaker won’t be a self-contained story, but instead, it will continue and develop the existing plotline.
Instead of individual properties, the entire DC Universe is now interconnected, as demonstrated by Peacemaker appearing in Superman’s storyline.
In my opinion, Season 2 serves as an extension of the storyline. The connecting thread between the characters in the DC Universe (DCU), which is followed closely by the 11th Street Kids, moves them onto their next adventure.
