At Gamescom Opening Night Live, a revamped appearance for Ninja Gaiden 4 was anticipated, and sure enough, Team Ninja and PlatinumGames came through with their presentation. The teaser provided some fresh plot insights as the new hero, Yakumo of the Raven Clan, interacts with a formidable leader from the Divine Dragon Order.
Yakumo is urged to give up his attempt to slay the Dark Dragon, but he stubbornly declines. Suddenly, Ryu Hayabusa emerges, daring Yakumo to fight him if he truly intends to vanquish the evil force.
In addition, we catch a glimpse of two novel weapon types – a duo of colossal shurikens, ready for hurling, and a pair of incredibly destructive claws. This brings the total number of weapons that Yakumo can utilize up to five (with Ryu receiving additional ones in future downloadable content releases).
On October 21st, Ninja Gaiden 4 is set to release on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. Boasting a main storyline of approximately 15 to 20 hours, it also features an abundance of side content with optional challenges. To cater to those looking for a less challenging experience, there’s the Hero Mode.
