Prince Harry popped in for a royal visit.
Prince Harry, also known as the Duke of Sussex, popped in for a short visit during season two of Meghan Markle‘s Netflix series titled “With Love, Meghan,” which is set to release on August 26. This appearance was made so he could check in with a particularly valued guest.
Chef Clare Smyth from Northern Ireland, who was responsible for the menu at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018, appeared on an episode of Meghan’s lifestyle show. During filming in Southern California, she also had a chance to reconnect with Prince Harry.
Towards the conclusion of the episode, Meghan posted a picture of what seemed to be a surprise visit from her husband, Harry, who was captured grinning in a teal polo shirt and navy pants, leaning comfortably on Meghan and Clare by the poolside.
Though Harry wasn’t physically present with Meghan in the kitchen on-air, his presence was definitely felt. In truth, as the ex-star of Suits prepared a compound butter recipe, he found himself thinking fondly about the 40-year-old.
She shared, “My spouse often chuckles whenever I mention the word ‘herbs,'” she admitted, using the American pronunciation with an unpronounced ‘H.’ “He jokes, ‘You’re really showing your American side.’
In addition, given that the couple’s accents differ, Meghan Markle mentioned that their children, Prince Archie (age 5) and Princess Lilibet (age 3), exhibit a blend of both accents. Specifically, they pronounce the word “zebra” in a manner similar to Prince Harry, saying it as “zehh-bruh,” instead of the more common “zee-bruh.
Instead, the youngsters tend to follow the Duchess of Sussex’s example by referring to certain vegetables using their American counterparts, like “eggplant” instead of “aubergine,” and “zucchini” instead of “courgette.
Meghan explained that her children might use a mix of their own words, but nothing related to culinary terms, since it seems her husband isn’t doing much cooking.
In addition, Meghan always takes care to adorn her plates with some garnishes, a detail that catches the eye of her cherished son.
She remembered Archie saying, “‘Wow, Mama, that’s gorgeous,'” and later commented, “He is undoubtedly the sweetest, most endearing child ever.”
She recollected Archie exclaiming, “‘Oh my, Mama, it’s stunning!'”, and then remarked, “Without a doubt, he is the kindest, cutest little boy there ever was.
And it’s just one of the reasons Meghan feels so fulfilled with motherhood.
“I always wanted to be a mom,” she added. “I love it. It’s better than I even expected.”
Every morning, it’s a part of their routine that their 44-year-old member prepares a warm breakfast for the family, which they’ve come to call a “family tradition.
She clarified, “This is a special time for the family where you establish the rhythm, discussing what everyone is looking forward to today.” She suggested, “Take a moment of tranquility at the start of your day, no matter where it may lead.
And Meghan tries to make each meal entertaining for Archie and Lili.
As a passionate pancake enthusiast, I can’t help but whip up surprise seeded pancakes for the little ones! I secretly sneak in some ground flax seeds and chia seeds, turning their pancakes into delightful, speckled delights. And every time, sweet Lili would inquire with a charming smile, “Can I have my chia seeds? I want them to have freckles!
Meghan additionally takes care to add some garnishes to her dishes, a touch that is not lost on her “adorable son.
She remembered Archie saying something like, ‘Wow, Mama, that’s beautiful,’ and she commented later that he was the sweetest, cutest little child ever.
And it’s just one of the reasons Meghan feels so fulfilled with motherhood.
“I always wanted to be a mom,” she added. “I love it. It’s better than I even expected.”
The second season of “With Love, Meghan” is currently available for streaming on Netflix. To delve deeper into the series, continue reading for further analysis.
Meghan Markle shared in season two that she made husband Prince Harry and his friends custom baseball hats bearing “PH40″—his initials and age—in honor of his 40th birthday in September 2024.
Prior to setting off on a Malibu getaway with friend Heather Dorak, Meghan discussed the ways she’s evolved since her twenties.
When they first crossed paths, their bond was formed around shared interests in health and fitness. They used to run together, and since then, life has taken them on an interesting journey as they both became mothers. They now each have two children. Their husbands are also close friends, making their relationship even more delightful. It’s heartwarming to witness the growth of this friendship over time.
The former Suits star went on to share how her thoughts about aging have evolved as well.
She shared that it’s rewarding to navigate life’s growth during your 20s, find clarity in your 30s, and enter a fulfilling stage in your 40s. It’s an essential journey that leads you where you belong. Plus, it’s fascinating to observe how we as women grow more comfortable with ourselves, our identities, and our bodies as we age.
Meghan remarked, as they now enjoy cookies and wine together, it seems we’ve transitioned into a new phase.
Meghan admitted that it’s been nearly two decades since she last saw her fellow ‘Deal or No Deal’ star. However, they rekindled their connection a couple of years ago after Meghan initiated contact.
When they finally got together in season two, the pair reminisced about old times on set.
“I remember all having to stand in line,” Meghan recalled, “to get our lashes put on in a row.”
Despite not meeting since then, the Duchess of Sussex confessed that she has been following Chrissy’s professional progress closely.
After I departed from that performance, it took about a year, and then you gained widespread recognition,” Meghan shared. “I exclaimed, ‘Oh my goodness!’ seeing you on the Sports Illustrated cover…You were so gracious.
Following an unintentional slip-up where Meghan referred to the Hawthorn flower as “Honsworth,” Chrissy playfully suggested that perhaps the royal had been inadvertently naming her secret third child.
As the Cravings cookbook author noted, “I was like, ‘You have a kid named Honsworth?'”
In response, Meghan playfully remarked, “A child you’ve never heard of? Remarkable! If I could have managed to keep such a secret, truly impressive!
I, overjoyed fan here, can’t help but share my excitement about an unexpected encounter! In season two, Harry made a fleeting appearance alongside Meghan and none other than the illustrious Chef Clare Smyth. It was no ordinary coincidence, as Clare had flown all the way to California for that special episode. We three, bound by our shared admiration for Clare, struck a pose together, capturing the moment in a photo titled “Surprise Visit!
Meghan, who has children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet together with Harry, referred to her “precious little boy” as the “most gentle, loving, and adorable child ever born.
“I always wanted to be a mom,” Meghan added. “I love it. It’s better than I even expected.”
Meghan had to face the music after her move from London to California.
In a candid moment, she shared with Tan France that what she truly misses about the U.K. is the radio station Magic, making her feel like an old-fashioned grandmother.
These days, she noted her playlists can range from soul to country music.
She mentioned that her preferred radio station in the car is named ‘Mom Jeans.’ These stations play nostalgic songs that are perfect for singing along to, and it’s as if you had forgotten they even existed.
Cooking might be one of Meghan’s love languages, but her dishes don’t always turn out egg-celent.
She shared that the night her partner proposed to her, she prepared a roast chicken; this dish was also chosen for their wedding banquet. Now, she cooks it at least once a week. However, when she made a roast chicken for her future spouse, she still struggled with converting temperatures between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
She admitted, “That night, I must confess I prepared an absolutely dreadful chicken. It was really awful. Yet, the takeaway here is, even if you mess up a dish terribly, someone will still value the effort put into it.
During Clare’s episode, I jokingly pointed out that Harry teasingly refers to me as “very American” due to my habit of silently omitting the ‘h’ in the word “herbs.
The actress revealed that during her pregnancy, she consulted an Ayurvedic practitioner, who specializes in a traditional Indian medicine system, for advice. However, when speaking with guest Samin Nosrat, she expressed her frustration about having to consume “a tremendous amount” of dates. “Such a great amount.
It’s common knowledge that Meghan has a fondness for jams, but it wasn’t until she and Harry settled down in their Montecito, California home that her interest in preserving jams truly blossomed, as she shared during season one.
She mentioned in the second episode of “With Love, Meghan” that these vines were already present when they moved in, as she gathered berries. It was this very scene that sparked her passion for creating jams and preserves.
As for Meghan’s favorite preserve?
The Duchess of Sussex shared a special memory about her grandmother who used to make apple butter, stating its sentimental value for her. She mentioned that her children Archie and Lilinow are part of this tradition now. “However,” she continued, “I imagine my kids will associate this tradition with the comforting aroma that fills our home after school hours as I prepare sweet-scented fruits over a slow cooker. ‘There she is,’ they’ll say, ‘Mom’s making her preserves again.’
In fact, Meghan said Lili has even tried her hand at preserve-making.
In episode five, she mentioned that Lili and I had prepared the strawberry preserve jointly while serving it. She gathered all those berries alongside me, initially insisting, “No no, mama. I’ll do it,” and displaying a keen interest in the process. Eventually, she took charge, stirring and mashing the mixture. I stepped back to avoid the hot ingredients, and she poured it in. Her pride was evident throughout the process, which brought a sense of fulfillment.
However, it appears Harry, who made a cameo on season one, has some culinary skills too.
In episode five, I couldn’t help but gush about my amazing hubby, affectionately known as H. Let me tell you, this man whips up some incredible breakfasts!
The duchess also offered some insight into how the Duke of Sussex likes to season his food.
Meghan shared that her husband always adds salt to his food, even before tasting it, which was disclosed in the second episode. To counteract this, she intends to reduce the amount of salt she uses when cooking for him.
As a devoted admirer of style, I personally embrace the allure of a “high-low” approach in my wardrobe. This means skillfully blending exquisite, high-end items with more affordable, yet equally chic pieces.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to recount an intriguing fashion moment from the first season of a show I used to be part of, “Suits.” During that period, I played host to the exceptional Mindy Kaling for a delightful tea party. I was keen to disclose my outfit choice for that special occasion – I opted for Zara pants, a Loro Piana top, and completed the look with a cozy sweater by Jenni Kayne.
The series highlights Megan’s passion for hosting, cooking, gardening, and interior design, but it also reveals some lesser-known aspects of her hobbies.
For instance, in one episode, she hosted a game night for her friends.
Over the past few months, we’ve embarked on a shared journey of mastering Mahjong,” she noted. “Originating in China during the 1800s, the game we play is called American Mahjong. What I find truly appealing about Mahjong is not just the enjoyment of the game itself, but the experience of discovering something new alongside friends. It’s fascinating to see how the learning process serves as a backdrop for the growth and strengthening of friendships.
Previously, it was mentioned that Tatcha’s creator, Vicky Tsai, shared that Meghan Markle enjoys playing pickleball as well. Additionally, the duchess herself disclosed some of her preferred types of music.
In the fifth episode, Meghan mentioned that she enjoys listening to a significant amount of music from the 1970’s soft rock era, as well as yacht rock, soul, and even some soothing tunes that are typically played during French dinner parties.
And when it come to food, she said she has a “very, very high tolerance” for spice.
As a kid growing up, I didn’t have much, but boy did we travel! My amazing mom was a travel agent, and she would take us on these fantastic journeys, sampling an endless array of delicious flavors from various parts of the world. One of my favorite memories is when she’d whip up a steaming pot of gumbo – the taste of Soul food was like nothing else! The combination of bold flavors and spicy kick would leave me yearning for more. Now, I’m passing that passion for heat and flavor down to my loved ones, but let me tell you, it’s a journey I never want to end.
In the second episode of the initial season, Meghan shared memories of her upbringing which included frequent consumption of fast food and TV dinners served on trays.
As I reflect on those times, it feels like a completely different era. Back then, convenience was the norm, with microwavable children’s meals neatly divided into compartments. This was my upbringing, spent in front of the TV watching Jeopardy! and indulging in fast food quite frequently.
Her favorites at the time?
Meghan mentioned that she frequently enjoyed eating Pollo Loco, Taco Bell (with an extra kick from their hot sauce on Mexican pizzas), and Jack in the Box, as her mother was fond of their tacos.
Furthermore, apart from those memories, Meghan also reminisced about her experiences in the Girl Scouts during her childhood.
She mentioned during the fourth episode that she had been a Girl Scout for quite some time. Her scouting journey began when she was just around five or six, as a Daisy, and she sold numerous boxes of cookies. Incidentally, her mother served as the leader for Troop 949.
Following their withdrawal from active duties within the royal family in 2020, Harry and Meghan retained their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
And in With Love, Meghan, she explained why the Sussex name is so meaningful to her.
In the second episode, Meghan expressed to Mindy that it’s amusing she still refers to her as Meghan Markle, given that she is now part of the Sussex family. Meghan explained, “You have kids and you call them by your name, saying ‘No, I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t realize how significant it would feel for me, but it carries such emotional weight to proclaim, ‘This is our family name. Our special, little family name.’
Speaking of Archie and Lili, Meghan offered a few insights into their world in the series.
As a gardening enthusiast to the core, I can’t help but share my passion with my cherished brood. My beloved offspring not only mirror my green thumb but have even invested in their very own tools to dig, plant, and tend to our thriving garden like seasoned horticulturists. Their dedication to this craft is nothing short of inspiring!
Moreover, it’s impossible not to admire my daughter’s flair for the color pink that adorns her corner of our shared sanctuary. And let me tell you, when it comes time for a clean-up, she’s got an infectious song that keeps spirits high and tasks manageable – a true testament to her joyful approach to gardening!
In the fifth episode, Meghan said, “Keep your space tidy. Turns out Lili made a catchy tune about it.” Or more casually, “Stay organized and Lili turned it into a song!
Moreover, Meghan shared stories about brewing sun tea with Archie and their fishing trip where he managed to catch a trout. Additionally, she spoke at length about her passion for cooking with her kids.
In episode five, she expressed that it’s deeply important for her students to experience something that’s closely connected to her aspirations for their learning, and she wants them to reminisce fondly about these moments as ‘This is what mommy used to do.’
Long before she was an actress or a duchess, Meghan had her first job at an ice cream shop.
During episode five of With Love, Meghan, she recalled that she was thirteen and her initial job was at Humphrey Yogart.
Later on, Meghan helped make doughnuts.
In the third episode, she reminisced about her childhood when discussing doughnuts, as they brought back memories. She used to work at a small shop called Lil Orbits Donuts. They weren’t typical doughnut holes; instead, they made miniature doughnuts that were even smaller than those. These mini doughnuts were sold at various craft events, and she assisted with the process.
And when she was in college, Meghan worked at a bar in Chicago.
The Northwestern University graduate mentioned in episode seven that by taking on two majors, she planned to head to Chicago and earn additional income working as a coat-check girl. However, her friends suggested that instead of being a coat-check girl, she could become a cocktail waitress instead.
After getting puzzled over a customer’s martini request, Meghan mentioned that her manager advised her to return to her role as a coat-check attendant.
In addition, it’s worth mentioning that Meghan has shared in various episodes that she has experience teaching gift wrapping classes, leading workshops in book making at Paper Source, and working as a hostess at the Mirabelle Restaurant located on Sunset Boulevard.
In the fourth installment, where Meghan is seen hosting an event alongside Nacho Figueras’ wife Delfina Blaquier, she reminisces about her experiences during her overseas stay.
During my stay in Argentina, I believe what made me fall in love with the place so deeply is that it had a striking resemblance to California in many aspects. Just like California, it offers majestic mountains and an infectious zest for life that makes one appreciate being outdoors. The Duchess noted this while spending just a few months there, working as an intern at the U.S. embassy; however, she loved her time there immensely.
In simpler terms, from 2011 to 2018, Meghan starred as Rachel Zane on the show “Suits,” and the moment she learned she’d be relocating to Toronto for the part remains etched in her memory.
She said on episode two, “You discover it’s been selected. It’s in Toronto. Well, what does that entail?” To which she responded, “Well, one season in Toronto. Fantastic. Two seasons. Now, I wonder if my life will be based elsewhere? Fortunately, I adore Canada, and I’ve always made an effort to bring the cast over or meet people at the dog park with their dogs.
In fact, her costar Abigail Spencer appears in one of the With Love, Meghan episodes.
In January 2025, Meghan announced her beloved dog, Guy, passed away.
In the Netflix show, the lovable beagle popped up multiple times, and Meghan shared her affection for him openly.
In the fourth episode, she expressed that for Guy, she’d go to any lengths, a fact well-known to him. He can ask for anything because he adapts to whatever role is needed on a given day-be it her sweetheart, her jokester, her spunky companion, or her pampered one.
And he was always by her side.
In episode five, she noted that “Guy’s always by my side.” She referred to him as her constant companion, having been with her for an extended period. Guy joined her while she lived in Toronto, and was discovered in the woods in Kentucky. Since then, he has moved with her to the UK, back to Canada, and to California. As a result, Guy has plenty of interesting tales to share.
After the last episode of season one, Meghan paid tribute to Guy by saying that the series was dedicated with affection.
