At the Tokyo Game Show 2025, Sony has officially announced its participation. On their event webpage, they’ve revealed the games they will showcase. Among these, a special Family Game Park area at the event will feature the game Astro Bot. Additionally, two new titles that Sony will be presenting are Ghost of Yōtei and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
At Tokyo Game Show 2025, instead of presenting new trailers and reveals for major games, the event might focus on offering in-depth previews of both upcoming titles – Ghost of Yōtei and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. While Ghost of Yōtei is scheduled to release on October 2, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls only has a 2026 release window as of now. However, there’s an upcoming closed beta for Marvel Tōkon from September 5 to September 7.
A variety of gaming companies, such as Capcom, Sega, Kojima Productions, Square Enix, and Koei Tecmo, will partner with PlayStation. Notably, Koei Tecmo has announced that it will be present at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, showcasing three of its upcoming games: “Nioh 3,” “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment,” and “Ninja Gaiden 4.
At Tokyo Game Show 2025, the event will run from September 25th to the 28th. The show’s schedule is divided into two segments. During the first four days, it will be exclusive to businesses for demonstrations and presentations of new games. Later, from the 26th through the 28th, the event will open to the public, allowing everyone to participate.
The announcement for the event took place in July, accompanied by a trailer that unveiled the artwork destined for the promotion of TGS 2025. This announcement also disclosed that a total of 772 exhibitors will be participating, among which, 473 are from Japan. The location for this event boasts over 4,000 booths sprawled across an expansive exhibition area, where developers from both small-scale indie studios and large AAA companies will display their upcoming video games.
Artist Zashiki Warashi expressed genuine joy upon receiving numerous responses to the preview artwork they unveiled in tandem with the Tokyo Game Show 2025 announcement. The artwork was created with appreciation for those involved in game development, and despite the stress of such a high-profile event like TGS, their goal is for attendees to find enjoyment in it, no matter how small.
Regarding the Ghost of Yōtei, developer Sucker Punch Productions recently released a trailer that provides a glimpse into its single-player gameplay. In the trailer, we see the protagonist Atsu employing diverse weapons to vanquish numerous adversaries. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Sucker Punch is developing a cooperative Legends mode for the game, which is expected to launch at a later date.
The game titled Marvel Taikon: Fighting Souls is additionally generating trailers, featuring one released earlier this month that highlights its gameplay features and diverse systems.
