‘So Lucky.’ Kristin Kreuk Just Shared A Smallville Reunion With Michael Rosenbaum And Tom Welling, And They Look Great

The TV era based on DC Comics characters from The CW might have concluded in 2024 with the show Superman & Lois, as it was one of several shows that ended or were canceled that year. However, it seemed like the ideal manner to wrap things up because, similar to how the story began with Superman, it concluded with him too. This is noteworthy since before The Arrowverse, there was Smallville. Airing from 2001-2011 for a full 10 seasons, this series focused on Clark Kent’s backstory prior to Man of Steel. Even today, it remains fondly remembered by many, and recently, stars like Kristin Kreuk reunited with Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling to demonstrate their ongoing success.

The trio reunited at Fan Expo Canada over the weekend along with Laura Vandervoort and Erica Durance, and it seems like, in between photo ops, Kreuk, Rosenbaum, and Welling took photos on their own. Kreuk, who played Lana Lang on the first eight seasons, took to her Instagram Story to repost a sweet photo shared by the Lex Luthor actor with her and her two on-screen love interests. Even 14 years after the series came to an end, I love how close they are and how good they look:

Absolutely, they often attend conventions together, and it’s always a delight to see them reunite. Given their busy schedules filled with various projects, their shared appearances for ‘Smallville’ underscores the significance of this series in their lives and the strong bond they share. Meeting fans of the series further emphasizes this connection.

As the original Smallville cast continues to keep the series lively, what could this imply for the possibility of an animated sequel? Previously, Welling and Rosenbaum had been attempting to initiate an animated revival with the original producers. Yet, a producer recently commented on the show, stating that Warner Bros., which has undergone significant changes, is in the process of revamping DC and focusing on Superman. This could potentially make it challenging to produce another Smallville series.

Though an animated reboot might not occur promptly, fans were able to relive the charm of Smallville post its finale. In 2020’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event on The CW, Tom Welling and Erica Durance stepped back into their roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively. Despite his attachment to the character, Welling was eager to reappear since it was only for a single scene. Notably, this brief appearance had an impactful moment where Clark confessed to Jon Cryer’s Lex that he relinquished his powers for his family.

Smallville will always be hailed as one of the greatest shows ever made, with its theme song adding to its appeal. Even though we may not get to witness the original cast reunite on television, fans can still enjoy their favorite episodes through a Hulu subscription, as the entire series is available for streaming.
