Austin Butler believes in practicality.
The forward-thinking Oscar nominee took an unconventional approach during the filming of “Caught Stealing,” which involved staying overnight on set wearing only his undergarments.
Austin shared with TopMob News during the movie’s New York City debut on August 26th, “Since I had an early rise scheduled for the next day, I found myself yearning for a comfortable place to catch some more z’s.
The 34-year-old joked, “Might as well.”
However, Austin clarified that he wasn’t residing in a real apartment on set for the film directed by Darren Aronofsky, which will premiere in theaters on August 29th.
He mentioned that we shot scenes in Brooklyn, specifically on a soundstage. These stages can sometimes have an artificial feel to them.
Despite devoting much of his time in New York City and shooting scenes at various outdoor spots such as the East Village, Coney Island, and Brighton Beach, the actor portraying Elvis undeniably immersed himself in the authentic Big Apple atmosphere.
In an interview aired on TopMob News on August 27th at 11 p.m, he jokingly said, “Working in the East Village throughout the night, you come across some interesting individuals.
Additionally, Austin often spent a significant amount of time observing his fellow actors, including Zoë Kravitz, with whom he held only deep affection and admiration.

“As a collaborator,” he gushed, “she’s just so smart.”
Working with the 36-year-old individual was particularly exciting for me, as Austin had expressed great admiration for her highly praised 2024 directorial debut, “Blink Twice.
Austin remarked, “She’s an exceptional director. It’s truly a blessing to work with someone who not only has creative ideas but also writes the scenes.
And Austin was feeling particularly modest, noting that he’s “not like that.”
“She’s so smart,” he continued. “She’s smarter than me.”

Off screen, he’s also been lucky enough to witness how Zoë interacts with those around her.
He recollected an instance from the past, his first time spending time with her, where he noticed her nurturing nature towards a friend. She seemed to care for everyone around her.
