Emilie Kiser Breaks Silence on 3-Year-Old Son Trigg’s Tragic Death

Emilie Kiser has spoken out amid an unimaginable loss.

Approximately three months following the tragic incident where their 3-year-old son Trigg Kiser drowned in their swimming pool, Emilie expressed a message on social media, acknowledging that expressing feelings appropriate for such a significant loss has been difficult due to its immense nature, as it seems almost beyond words.

In her August 28 post, she expressed that Trigg is both our cherished baby and beloved companion. The radiant, genuine happiness he brought into existence was brilliant, innocent, joyful, and palpable. We ache for him around the clock and moving on seems nearly impossible at times. I never imagined we’d feel such profound grief or the agony of his sudden departure. This aching heart, sorrow, and emptiness are burdens no family should ever have to bear.

Emilie, who is a mother to her five-month-old son Theodore together with Brady, openly spoke about the deep sense of guilt she carries due to the sad passing of their child, Trigg.

As Trigg’s mom, I acknowledge fully that there were steps I could have taken to keep him safe which I regret not doing. One of those steps would have been installing a permanent fence around the pool, a lesson I now carry with me and will never forget, as it might have prevented his tragic death.

By recounting her story, she aims that Trigg’s experience may serve as a guide for others, sparing additional kids and their families similar grief.

Amidst the heart-wrenching turmoil, I found solace in knowing that my family and I were surrounded by an overwhelming amount of support, a comfort that Emilie herself acknowledged.

To our loved ones: Your unwavering support, boundless love, and constant presence are what’s helping us endure these challenging times. We can’t possibly express enough gratitude for all you’ve done – from being our pillars of strength to carrying us through each day. You truly are the finest and most supportive friends and family one could ever hope for.

The influencer likewise expressed gratitude to her audience for the “abundance of affection” and encouragement they’ve provided her during the months following Trigg’s passing.

Emilie, who submitted confidential documents regarding Trigg’s passing to protect the details from public view earlier this year, also shared her intentions for managing her online persona differently moving forward, as a result of this experience.

In 2021, when I joined social media as a new mother, my aim was to build connections with other mothers and find a supportive community. However, I discovered much more than that. After experiencing this unfortunate event, Emilie realized that digital relationships often lack clear boundaries, particularly in safeguarding children’s privacy. As a result, she intends to set stricter limits on her online sharing moving forward.

The 26-year-old woman, whose spouse Brady was not implicated in Trigg’s death, has shared that she intends to disclose more about her process of coping with grief in the time to come. For the moment, however, she signed off by saying, “I merely want to express gratitude for the love, understanding, tolerance, and room you’ve afforded us as we mourn.

She added, “I am more grateful for it than can ever be expressed.”
