Vanessa Lachey Shares Son Camden, 13, Is “Never Too Old” to Do This

Vanessa Lachey doesn’t take her close bond with her firstborn for granted.

On September 12th, Nick Lachey, host of *Love Is Blind*, celebrated his oldest son Camden’s 13th birthday. They shared sweet photos together, including a kiss, surrounded by black and white balloons.

Vanessa shared photos and a sweet message on Instagram on September 13th, celebrating 13 years with a touching sentiment: ‘and never too old to kiss his Mama.’

While celebrating a significant achievement for Camden, the 44-year-old mother – who also shares 10-year-old Brooklyn and 8-year-old Phoenix with her 51-year-old partner, Nick – emphasized that her love for her family extends beyond just birthdays and holidays.

She shared how much she loves her son, saying it’s something she can’t put into words, so she makes sure to show him how she feels every single day.

Nick and Vanessa, married since 2011, recently talked about how strange it felt to realize their son, Camden, is becoming a teenager. They admitted it was hard to fully process.

Nick shared in a February interview with Entertainment Tonight that their oldest child is turning thirteen this year, which caused his wife to react with a surprised and emotional “Oh no!”

Wiping away tears, Vanessa shared that watching her children grow more independent was both happy and sad for her.

She went on to say, “We cherish watching our children grow up. Just doing laundry – folding my son Phoenix’s tiny Superman underwear – made me realize how quickly he’s growing. And when I tried to talk to my daughter Brooklyn about growing up, she told me she didn’t want to!”

Nick and Vanessa have plenty to be excited about as their children grow up and move into a new stage of life.

She admitted it was difficult knowing that everything was happening for the first time for her son, Phoenix, but would be the last time for her. However, she added that she was looking forward to him experiencing things like having relationships and learning to drive.

Vanessa and Nick Lachey rang in 2024 at Disneyland with their three kids Camden, Brooklyn and Phoenix.

Vanessa celebrated the New Year with a sweet message on social media: “Happy New Year from the happiest place on earth!” She also shared that this was the first New Year her whole family – all five of them – stayed up to celebrate until midnight. She jokingly added that both the kids and parents managed to make it!

The Lachey family marked Phoenix’s 7th birthday in 2023 by keeping up their annual gingerbread house tradition. Vanessa shared on Instagram how quickly he’s grown, calling him their “miracle baby” and the final piece that completed their family. She described him as “the cherry on top!”

“So very thankful,” their mom wrote. “our world.”

The model celebrated her daughter’s 9th birthday in 2024 with a sweet photo taken at the beach. She wrote, “It feels like just yesterday she turned one! Happy Birthday to our little girl.”

Vanessa took her kids to see Disney on Ice and had a magical experience – she even met Mickey Mouse behind the scenes! What a treat for them all!

I was so impressed with what the former *Total Request Live* host did for Halloween! Her family dressed up as characters from a Disney animated movie, and it was absolutely adorable – they really went all out!

The famous family got their tan on during a winter vacation in paradise.
