Jimmy Kimmel Live! Taken Off Air After Charlie Kirk Comments

Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show is taking a break.

Okay, so this is HUGE! I just heard from NBC News that *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is basically off the air… indefinitely! Can you believe it? It all started after Jimmy did his monologue on the 15th, and he talked about the guy who allegedly attacked Charlie Kirk. Apparently, ABC wasn’t happy with what Jimmy said, and now the show’s just… gone. I’m devastated! I need my Kimmel fix, but it looks like we’re all going to be waiting a long time. It’s just awful!

Okay, let’s talk about what’s happening right now. It’s really frustrating to see how some people are reacting to this terrible situation. After a young man attacked Charlie Kirk, those who identify with the MAGA movement are working overtime to distance themselves from him, and honestly, it feels like they’re prioritizing political advantage over acknowledging the issue. It’s a classic move – trying to control the narrative instead of addressing what’s really going on. As someone who looks at these patterns, it’s clear this is about damage control, and it’s disheartening to see.

Tyler Robinson, 22, surrendered to authorities on September 12th and was subsequently charged with aggravated murder. The charge stems from the shooting death of 31-year-old Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10th. Following his arrest, police shared text messages allegedly sent by Robinson, in which he stated he targeted Kirk due to being “fed up with his hatred.”

Okay, so I was *totally* following this, and the FCC Chairman, Brendan Carr, went OFF about Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue on September 17th! He called it the absolute WORST thing ever – seriously, “the sickest conduct possible” were his words! And get this – he basically threatened ABC and Disney, saying the FCC could actually *take away* their ability to broadcast if they didn’t do something! It’s insane, he actually said they have the power to revoke their licenses! I’m glued to this, it’s a total mess!

Shortly after that announcement, Nexstar Media Group-a company that owns over 200 TV stations across the U.S.-said its ABC stations would stop showing *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* starting with tonight’s episode, and ABC eventually cancelled the show completely.

Jimmy Kimmel, who has hosted his late-night show since 2003, hasn’t commented publicly on ABC’s decision to temporarily stop his program. However, he did respond to the news of Kirk Douglas’s death with a message to the country.

In a statement posted on Instagram on September 10th, the 57-year-old asked people to stop blaming each other and simply acknowledge that shooting another person is terrible and shocking.

Jimmy Kimmel also offered his sympathy to Erika Frantzve Kirk, the wife of Turning Point USA’s cofounder, and their two young children. He said his family is sending love to the Kirks and to everyone – especially children and parents – affected by pointless gun violence.
