2 Years Later, A Newly Added Netflix Horror is Officially A Hit (& The Twist Ending is Wild)

Netflix recently added a horror movie that’s quickly gaining popularity – it’s already in the Top Ten after just two days! Many viewers are comparing it to the spooky “Treehouse of Horror” episodes of *The Simpsons*, particularly the one with Bart’s attic-dwelling twin, or calling it a creepier version of *Coraline*. It’s a dark, overlooked film that’s definitely worth watching.

Looking back, it’s not surprising that not many people saw the film when it first came out, especially since it only earned $10 million worldwide and was released around more popular movies like *Five Nights At Freddy’s* and *Insidious*. However, *Cobweb* boasts a great cast, including Lizzy Caplan, Cleopatra Coleman, and Antony Starr. It’s a perfect spooky story to get you in the mood for Halloween-and you can never start celebrating Halloween too early!

Cobweb Is A Story About A Child’s Wild Imagination—Or Is It?

Eight-year-old Peter (Woody Norman) starts hearing mysterious knocks and voices inside his bedroom walls. His parents, who are both overprotective and a little unusual, initially dismiss his worries, telling him it’s just his imagination. But when the noises continue and his parents don’t take him seriously, Peter begins to suspect they might be causing the sounds, making him question everything they say.

The movie has received mostly positive reviews, currently scoring 71% on the Popcornmeter. While most viewers enjoyed it, some criticism focuses on the final 20 minutes and the lighting. One Rotten Tomatoes reviewer, Alex B., described the film as a blend of Neil Gaiman, Tim Burton, and Kevin Williamson, calling it a “classic horror” with excellent sets, choreography, and characters – a movie worth adding to your must-watch list!

I have a feeling *Cobweb* is going to find a huge audience on Netflix and become a real cult favorite. It’s got that special something that really resonates with viewers, and I’m glad more people will finally get to see it!
