This Tim Burton Movie Is a Better Halloween Watch Than All His Other Films (And it Just Got Easier to Stream)

While many horror movies are enjoyable, some truly capture the feeling of Halloween. This time of year is perfect for watching spooky films, but certain movies – often within the horror genre, and sometimes beyond – really embody the eerie atmosphere of the season. Tim Burton is known for his Halloween-esque style, and one of his films, in particular, feels especially fitting for the holiday.

Tim Burton’s *Sleepy Hollow*, the 1999 gothic horror film with Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, is back on streaming! It perfectly captures the spooky atmosphere of Halloween, from its eerie landscapes to its dramatic visuals. The movie really feels like the Halloween season come to life, just like the town it’s named after.

This month, Paramount+ added the show *Sleepy Hollow* back to its streaming service, just in time for fans to enjoy it this Halloween season.

A Perfect Halloween Movie

Washington Irving’s *The Legend of Sleepy Hollow*, first published in 1820, is a classic tale that has been retold in many different ways over the past two centuries. It centers on Ichabod Crane, who is haunted by the terrifying Headless Horseman – a ghostly soldier who lost his head to a cannonball.

Tim Burton’s film stars Johnny Depp as Ichabod Crane, reimagined as a New York police officer sent to Sleepy Hollow to solve a series of mysterious deaths linked to the legend of the Headless Horseman. Christina Ricci plays Katrina, the object of Crane’s affection and daughter of a wealthy local family. Though Ray Park performs most of the Headless Horseman’s stunts, Christopher Walken portrays the character in its fully realized, soldier form. Many viewers consider these scenes with Walken to be the most iconic and memorable parts of the movie.

Other Spooky Streams on Paramount+

Paramount+ kicked off September by adding a lot of great horror movies and shows, giving subscribers plenty of spooky options for the season.

Paramount+ has recently added a bunch of classic horror movies, including titles like *Cloverfield*, *Scream 4*, *The Crow*, *The Uninvited*, the first three *Scary Movie* films, *Jacob’s Ladder*, *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, *Disturbia*, all three original *Blade* movies, and the first eight *Friday the 13th* films.
