DC Comics boasts a huge roster of fantastic superheroes, but not everyone can lead their own comic book. A great way to showcase these characters is by putting them on a team, allowing for exciting interactions and teamwork. Being part of a team can make already popular heroes even bigger stars, and it’s always enjoyable to see beloved characters playfully clash. However, despite the many team books available, there are still some deserving groups that aren’t currently featured, which is disappointing.
DC Comics has a wealth of fantastic, but often overlooked, teams. While not every one can get its own comic book, with the current dark version of the Legion of Super-Heroes gaining popularity, fans are eager for a return to the classic team and want to see other forgotten heroes highlighted. So, let’s look at five lesser-known or currently inactive teams that truly deserve their own comic series.
5) Lovers Trinity

I’ve come up with an idea for a new comic book team – I’m calling them the Lovers Trinity. We all know Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, but what about the people they love? I think a series focusing on Lois Lane, Catwoman, and Steve Trevor would be fantastic. While they seem like an unlikely group, they’re all connected through their relationships with DC’s biggest heroes. It would be really compelling to see how each of them views those relationships. This team would allow three strong, unique characters to interact in a fresh way, and it would also give us a chance to see what they do when they’re not with the main heroes. They could tackle world-saving problems on a more personal, human scale – something DC could definitely use more of. Plus, it could open the door to exploring other great characters, like Linda Park or even more Snapper Carr – and honestly, we could always use more Snapper Carr!
4) The Terrifics

It’s a simple decision: now is the perfect time for DC to spotlight The Terrifics. Their popularity is rising thanks to the recent *Superman* movie, and one member, Phantom Girl, has a direct connection to a well-known character from the Legion of Super-Heroes – creating a compelling story opportunity. The Terrifics are a fantastic team, essentially DC’s take on the Fantastic Four, with a brilliant leader, a shape-shifter, and a member with fiery powers. They explore the Multiverse, tackling everything from sci-fi challenges to powerful magic, which offers incredible storytelling potential. The team’s chemistry is also exceptional – the cool composure of Mister Terrific combined with the playful dynamic between Plastic Man and Metamorpho makes for a truly engaging group.
3) Young Justice

As a huge comic fan, I really feel like bringing back Young Justice is essential. They were *the* team for teens in the ’90s, and honestly, so much fun to read. It was exciting back then because you knew these sidekicks – Tim Drake, Connor Kent, Bart Allen, and Cassie Sandmark – were destined for great things. But sadly, DC seems to have forgotten about them. The last attempt to relaunch the team, back in 2019, just didn’t stick, and they’ve been sidelined ever since. It’s frustrating to see characters with so much potential stuck in neutral; they’ve actually *regressed* over time. I think reuniting them as Young Justice would be the perfect way to give them the space to grow and evolve, and honestly, give DC something worthwhile to do with them. With no Teen Titans currently around, the timing couldn’t be better for them to make a comeback and reclaim the spotlight.
2) The Trinity

DC’s *Batman/Superman: World’s Finest* is a standout series, bringing a classic, Silver Age feel to the early days of Batman and Superman’s partnership. It’s surprising we haven’t seen a similar book focusing on Wonder Woman, as she’s just as important to DC. While Wonder Woman is currently featured in her own successful comics, opportunities to see her interact with her close friends, Batman and Superman, are rare. These three heroes truly embody what DC represents, and there haven’t been enough comics that give them equal focus. A series like *World’s Finest*, but centered on this ‘Trinity,’ would be fantastic – it would highlight a wonderful friendship and be incredibly entertaining.
1) Super Sons

The original *Super Sons* comic featuring Damian Wayne and Jonathan Kent was a standout title for DC, and fans have been eager for a return to that dynamic. Both characters have changed significantly since then – especially Jon, who was abruptly aged up, made Superman, and then sidelined. While reverting Jon to his original age seems unlikely, a new *Super Sons* series would be the next best thing. Currently, Jon is at a low point, reeling from a breakup with his ex (who also became a murderer and potential villain) and unsure of his place in the world after years of manipulation. Damian, however, is thriving, fully embracing his role as Robin and dedicated to heroism and family. This creates a fantastic opportunity for a role reversal – with the typically serious Damian helping Jon overcome his struggles. It would allow Jon to grow into the character he’s become and give Damian a chance to showcase his positive new outlook. The timing is right, and fans are excited to see these two best friends team up again.
