Salma Hayek’s Daughter Valentina, 18, Looks So Grown Up in Rare Photo

Salma Hayek is going all-out to ring in her daughter Valentina’s 18th birthday.

As a mom myself, I always say milestones deserve to be celebrated! Salma Hayek recently shared a peek into her family life, marking her and François-Henri Pinault’s daughter’s birthday with a beautiful celebration. It was lovely to see a rare family photo – they all looked so happy! It’s moments like these that truly matter, and I’m glad Salma chose to share a little bit of that joy with her fans.

Salma shared photos and videos on Instagram on September 22nd, celebrating a birthday with a weekend full of fun. She wrote about enjoying food, dancing, laughter, and love, and said that celebrating the birthday felt too short. She affectionately referred to the birthday person as ‘mi cielo,’ which means ‘my heaven.’

The actress posted an old childhood photo of her daughter, Valentina, and a sweet birthday message the day before, affectionately calling her “my beautiful dancing queen.”

Salma shared on Instagram how much has changed for you, but praised that you remain wonderfully yourself. She described you as having a kind and passionate heart, a wise and magical spirit, and a uniquely powerful personality, complete with a great sense of humor and determined spirit.

Salma shared a heartfelt message, saying, “Even though you’ve always been so mature for your age, you’ll forever hold a special place in my heart, my dear daughter. Happy birthday, Valentina Paloma!”

The 59-year-old has always been open about how close she is to her daughter, Valentina. She’s shared before that being a mother is especially meaningful to her, as she once worried she might never have the chance to experience it.

She told *People* magazine in 2015 that having a child later in life was something she’d always wanted, and she’d worried it might not be possible.

Salma, who is also stepmother to François-Henri’s children-François, 27, and Mathilde, 24 (from his marriage to Dorothée Lepère), and Augustin, 18, with ex-partner Linda Evangelista-emphasized that maintaining her own career was very important to her.

She explained that children need to know they are loved and valued, but also that their parents have their own lives and goals. It’s important to model this by continuing to pursue your own personal and professional development, showing them you’re an individual with interests beyond parenting.
