Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora DLC expansion ‘From the Ashes’ announced

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are releasing a new downloadable expansion for *Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora* called “From the Ashes” on December 19th. This is the same day the *Avatar: Fire and Ash* movie comes out.

According to Joshua Izzo, a Lightstorm Entertainment executive, their collaboration with Massive Entertainment has enabled them to significantly broaden the world of *Avatar* with *Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora*. The new expansion, ‘From the Ashes,’ will launch alongside the movie *Avatar: Fire and Ash*, which delves into a more dangerous side of Pandora and introduces the Ash People. They are thrilled to offer *Avatar* fans fresh, immersive stories through this interactive experience.

According to Massive Entertainment’s creative director, Omar Bouali, the ‘From the Ashes’ expansion aims to redefine the player experience in Pandora. It features a more emotionally resonant and intimate story, a new third-person perspective for greater immersion, and revamped combat that adds both tactical depth and emotional impact. The goal was to give fans a fresh, exciting look at the Western Frontier with a richer narrative and more engaging gameplay.

On December 19th, a new expansion called “From the Ashes” will be available for *Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora*, coinciding with the release of the film *Avatar: Fire and Ash*. The expansion lets you play as the Na’vi warrior So’lek in a new story focused on revenge and survival, taking place in a damaged part of the Western Frontier that includes the Kinglor Forest and a completely new region.

“From the Ashes,” created by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, continues the story shortly after the original game. You play as So’lek, a strong Na’vi warrior from the Trr’ong clan. After being ambushed and left for dead by the RDA and a new enemy group called the Ash clan, So’lek finds his home destroyed and his family scattered. Fueled by loss and a desire for revenge, he embarks on a quest to find and protect those he loves.

The “From the Ashes” expansion can be bought separately if you already have the original game. Or, you can purchase the new “From the Ashes” Edition, which includes both the original game and the expansion. This edition also comes with bonus content – three unique color schemes for banshees, inspired by the Valley of Mo’ara from the world of Avatar.

You can now play *Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora* on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It’s available for PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Ubisoft Store, and Luna.
