Rosie O’Donnell is about to be a grandma again.
Comedian Blake O’Donnell and his wife, Teresa O’Donnell, are excited to announce they are expecting their first child next spring.
The couple, married in August 2024, announced they’re expecting a baby with a sweet photoshoot. They posed in a sunflower field with a picture of their ultrasound and a baby onesie that said “Baby O’Donnell March 2026.” The photos also showed them lovingly posing together and sharing kisses while holding the sonogram.
I was so excited to see Teresa post on Instagram on September 22nd, saying things were about to get a lot brighter for them! It really felt like a hint of happy things to come, and I couldn’t wait to find out what she meant.
Rosie, age 63, and Blake’s ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter, share a 25-year-old son. Rosie was thrilled about an upcoming event, expressing her joy with numerous heart emojis and saying she was “over the moon.”
I was so thrilled to hear about the family expanding! Kelli, who was married to him from 2004 to 2007, shared that she’s absolutely overjoyed too. It’s wonderful to see them all growing as a family.
“This makes me so happy!” the 58-year-old said. “I love you both, and your baby is going to be incredibly loved – and probably a little spoiled!”
Blake and Teresa are about to become grandparents again! Their daughter, Chelsea, already has four children: Skylar Rose, 6, Riley, 4, Avery-Lynn, 3, and Atlas, who is almost two years old. Rosie, Chelsea’s sister, also has children – Parker, 30, and Vivienne, 22 – with Kelli, as well as a 12-year-old son named Clay from a previous relationship with Michelle Rounds.

Since moving to Ireland in January, the former talk show host and her husband, Clay, have been settling into their new life, even as her family continues to expand back in the United States.
She told *Us Weekly* in April that she’s fallen in love with Howth, her new hometown. She described it as a charming village within Dublin, where everyone knows each other – like knowing your local grocer and the cashiers at the store. She was especially touched by how incredibly kind the people are, saying it surprises her daily.
And now that Rosie has settled into her new lifestyle, she and Clay haven’t looked back.
She explained that she felt this action was necessary for her own well-being and the mental health of her non-binary child.

After 19 seasons, *The Ellen DeGeneres Show* ended in 2022 following accusations of a negative and harmful workplace. These claims led to an internal investigation, the firing of several executives, and significant public criticism.
Ellen DeGeneres returned to performing with her Netflix stand-up special, *For Your Approval*, which was released in September 2024. Before the special aired, she announced her plans to leave Hollywood completely.
During her recent stand-up tour, Ellen DeGeneres announced to her audience that she plans to retire after releasing a Netflix special. As reported by SFGate, she stated, “This is the last time you’re going to see me.” Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have since moved to England. Ellen confirmed to Richard Bacon in July 2025 that they relocated in November 2024 following Donald Trump’s reelection.

Tyra Banks, the host of *America’s Next Top Model*, decided to move to Australia partly to focus on her ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream. She explained on *Today with Jenna & Friends* that her business had initially focused on providing ice cream for places like airplanes and cruises, and she was frequently traveling to Australia where a large production facility was making her recipes. She grew to love the country with each visit.
Banks also recognized Australia as a promising market for her brand, noting that the top three countries for ice cream consumption are the United States, New Zealand, and Australia.
She ultimately moved to Australia with her son, York (whose father is her ex, Erik Asla), and her boyfriend, Louis Bélanger-Martin, sharing that Australia has been a wonderful experience for her and her family.

Eva Longoria, best known for her role on *Desperate Housewives*, has moved from Los Angeles and now splits her time between Mexico and Spain with her husband, José Bastón, and their son, Santiago. She explained to *Marie Claire* that while she lived in Los Angeles for most of her adult life, the city had changed, and the pandemic accelerated her decision to leave. Factors like homelessness and taxes also contributed, though she doesn’t want to criticize California.
Longoria clarified to *The View: Behind the Table* that her move wasn’t politically motivated, despite happening after the presidential election. She emphasized that her work-including filming *Land of Women* in Catalonia and *Searching for Mexico*-led her to spend extended periods abroad, and she dislikes the idea of it being framed as a political statement. She feels fortunate to be able to move freely, expressing concern for Americans who don’t have the same opportunity. Despite the move, Longoria remains active in her career, with recent roles in *Only Murders in the Building* and *Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip*.

Actor Richard Gere has relocated from Chicago to Spain with his family. He shared on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* in November 2024 that his wife, Alejandra Silva, who is from Galicia, encouraged the move, and they plan to live in Madrid for several years.
Gere is enthusiastic about what this change will mean for their young sons, Alexander and James, noting that his children are already bilingual and will thrive in the new environment. He also has an adult son, Homer, with his former partner, Carey Lowell.
The family seems to be enjoying the transition. In an interview with *Elle España* in January 2025, Gere stated they are “happier than ever” and are currently experiencing a positive momentum in their lives.

Singer Christina Milian and her family have officially made Paris their home. Married to French singer Matt Pokora for over seven years, the couple previously spent half the year commuting between the U.S. and France. They decided to fully relocate so their children – Violet (from a previous marriage), and sons Isaiah and Kenna – could attend school in France. Milian feels it’s a fantastic opportunity for them to learn the language and experience a new culture. She shared with TopMob that her kids are thriving in Paris, enjoying school and an active lifestyle. Milian balances her work schedule with the time difference, working ahead to maintain a healthy routine. She describes their life as ‘magnifique’ and a positive experience for the whole family.

I’ve been so frustrated seeing all the speculation about why Lindsay left LA, so I was really glad to hear her finally explain things. She recently told Bustle that she felt her career was often overshadowed by the constant paparazzi attention when she was younger, and honestly, it’s so annoying that happened! She wished people had focused on her work instead of the drama. That’s a big part of why she needed to get away – she wanted to create a space where it was just about *her* and what she was doing. It’s amazing to see her building a life for herself overseas, first in London, then Dubai, and even opening beach clubs in Greece. It wasn’t just about escaping the craziness, it was about taking control and making sure her work could shine.
Lindsay Lohan wondered if she would ever find love, questioning if it would ever happen for her. She realized she needed to focus on herself before things started falling into place and she received the opportunities she truly wanted.
She did eventually find love with Bader Shammas, marrying him in 2022 and welcoming their son, Luai, in 2023.
Though they currently live in Dubai, Lindsay hasn’t left acting behind, recently appearing in films like *Our Little Secret*, *Irish Wish*, and *Freakier Friday*.

Josh decided to leave Hollywood after some careful thought. He explained to *People* magazine in July 2024 that Hollywood isn’t just a location, but a whole mindset. Being surrounded by people constantly focused on the film industry, he felt, would limit his life. He wanted something more diverse.
He shared that he always desired to be around people with varied interests, something that would challenge him and broaden his horizons – what he called “the spice of life.”
So, Josh, along with his wife Tamsin Egerton and their four children, moved to the countryside of Hampshire, England. He told *The Guardian* in July 2024 that time flies by with a large family, and while life might seem simpler, it’s filled with what truly matters.
Despite the move, Josh remains active in his career, having recently appeared in *Verity*, *Fight or Flight*, and *Trap*.

Many fans may not realize Jesse no longer lives in Los Angeles. In a February 2025 interview with *CBS News Sunday Morning*, the star of *A Real Pain* revealed he’s lived in Indiana for the past ten years, finding it a more comfortable environment. He explained he prefers to avoid the instability of the entertainment industry.
Despite being an Oscar nominee, Jesse lives a fairly ordinary life with his wife, Anna Strout, and their son, Banner. He avoids social media and doesn’t spend much time networking with people in the industry. He shared that his family life helps keep him grounded – his wife is a teacher, and his son isn’t even particularly interested in movies – so he doesn’t feel pressured to constantly evaluate his place within the industry.

Eliza, known for her roles in shows like *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* and the movie *Bring It On* (released in 2000), announced in September 2024 that she’s now a certified psychedelic-assisted therapist and is continuing her education to become a mental health professional.
She explained to *Boston Magazine* that she was able to change her path and dedicate herself to personal healing, with the goal of then helping others. She felt it was important to share her journey of transformation and the sense of peace and passion she’d found, as she now clearly understood this was her true calling and purpose.

The actress best known for playing a character in *The Flintstones* shared that she moved to Ireland with her son, Clay, in January 2025. She’s now working on becoming an Irish citizen because her grandparents were from there. While she mentioned current political events as a factor in her decision to move, she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning to her home country someday.
In a TikTok video, she shared how much she misses her children and friends. She’s working on building a new life in her current, beautiful country, but hopes to return to America when it’s safe and everyone there has equal rights.

After two decades as an actress, the star of *Ant-Man and the Wasp* has announced she’s taking a break from acting with no set return date.
In a June 2024 Instagram post, Evangeline shared how happy and at peace she feels while pursuing her life’s purpose. She expressed gratitude for her blessings, explaining that while choosing a less conventional path – prioritizing fulfillment over wealth and fame – can be daunting, it ultimately brings a deep sense of satisfaction.
However, she’s not ruling out a return to Hollywood completely, saying, “I could see myself going back someday, but right now, I’m happy where I am.”

Since finishing his role in the 2019 Netflix series *V-Wars*, the actor best known for *The Vampire Diaries* has been focusing on a personal mission: fighting climate change by working to improve soil health around the world.
As a mom and entrepreneur, balancing everything is always a juggle! About four years ago, I decided to shift my focus from acting to prioritize raising my kids and building my businesses. A big part of that has been getting these passion projects off the ground – specifically, the documentaries *Kiss the Ground* and *Common Ground*. Both films are really close to my heart, as they highlight the vital importance of regenerative farming and creating a more sustainable future. It’s been incredibly rewarding to work on something that truly matters, alongside everything else life throws my way!
Looking ahead, the actor plans to focus on ranching and building lasting brands, including his bourbon and health company. He’s deeply committed to sustainable farming and healthy soil practices, which are central to his and his family’s lifestyle. He explained this is his long-term vision, and the reason behind his passion for these things. He sees this as his future, and who he ultimately wants to be.

In a February 2021 episode of her podcast, *Empty Inside*, former *iCarly* star Jennette McCurdy shared with guest Anna Faris that she had quit acting a few years prior. She’s now pursuing writing and directing, alongside hosting the podcast.
Jennette shared that she regrets many of the acting roles she took in the past, detailing these feelings in her 2022 memoir, *I’m Glad My Mom Died*. She expressed feeling unfulfilled by her career and described the parts as cheesy and embarrassing, especially considering she was on those shows from age 13 to 21. She noted that she was already feeling embarrassed about her work by age 15, and it wasn’t something her friends were impressed by.
She hasn’t ruled out returning to acting completely. In an interview with TopMob News in October 2022, she explained that writing her book helped her consider acting in a new light, free from past pressures. She suggested she might consider it again if she were to write a role specifically for herself, as that could be the only way she’d feel comfortable exploring it.

It seemed like a pretty easy decision. The chance to marry Prince Harry, devote ourselves to causes we care about, and even wear the Queen’s tiaras would make leaving Hollywood totally worth it.
Similar to Grace Kelly’s journey from Hollywood to Monaco, Meghan Markle transitioned from her acting career in Toronto, where she starred in the show *Suits*, to a life within the British Royal Family. Now that she and Prince Harry have stepped down as senior royals and live in California, Meghan is returning to professional life. This includes a production deal with Netflix, where she released the 2022 docuseries *Harry & Meghan* and will launch a lifestyle show, *With Love, Meghan*, in 2025. She has also started a podcast and launched her brand, As Ever.

After starring in over 40 films since she began her career with 1994’s *The Mask*, the actress really needed a rest when she finished filming *Annie* in 2014.
She told Gwyneth Paltrow that she realized she wanted a different lifestyle. After years of intense work and filmmaking, she felt burned out. Making movies, she explained, is incredibly demanding – it requires long hours and complete dedication, leaving no room for personal life.
Cameron Diaz had many interests she wanted to pursue, including writing – she followed up her 2013 bestseller, *The Body Book*, with *The Longevity Book* in 2016 – and starting a family with her husband, Benji Madden. Although she told *InStyle* in 2019 that she didn’t miss acting and was focused on wellness, it seemed she might be open to returning for at least one more project.
Jamie Foxx explained that he and others practically pleaded with Cameron Diaz to star in the upcoming 2025 Netflix movie, *Back in Action*. “We were on our knees, begging her to do one more,” he told TopMob News. “We adore her, we’ve been waiting for her return, and this is going to be amazing.”

The actor stated firmly that he wouldn’t return to the show after completing his five years on *Empire*. When *Extra* asked Terrence Howard about his plans before the sixth and final season aired in 2019, he said he was finished with acting and no longer wanted to play roles.
I’ve been a huge fan of Taye Diggs for years, so it’s bittersweet to hear him talk about retiring from acting. He’s said it before, stepping away after a few projects, and he brought it up again while promoting his *The Best Man: The Final Chapters* series on Peacock in 2022. He explained to Entertainment Tonight that he feels like he’s given everything he has to the craft and now he’s genuinely excited to see fresh, new faces in the industry. He doesn’t want to just keep repeating what he’s already done – he wants to make room for the next generation.
Even with the previous issues, Howard has continued to act, appearing in shows like *Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist* and the Netflix film *Shirley*. He also has several new projects planned.

After his character, King Joffrey, died on the show in 2014, Jack Gleeson, who was 21 at the time, decided to stop acting. He told EW that he had been acting since he was eight years old and simply wasn’t enjoying it anymore.
Jack realized that growing up meant things were different. The fun he once had performing with friends wasn’t quite the same when it became a potential career. He explained, ‘I used to do it just for fun, but now it’s about making a living.’ While he still enjoyed it, he admitted that turning a hobby into work changed how he felt about it. ‘It’s not that I dislike it,’ he clarified, ‘it’s just not what I want to do with my life.’
After a six-year hiatus, Jack returned to acting in 2020 with a role in the BBC series *Out of Her Mind*. Since then, he’s also been in films like *Rebecca’s Boyfriend* and *In the Land of Saints and Sinners*, and TV shows including *Safe Harbor* and *The Famous Five*.

After becoming famous for her role in *Fast Times at Ridgemont High*, Jennifer Aniston married actor Kevin Kline in 1989. They made a pact to avoid working at the same time so they could both care for their children, Owen and Greta. Greta is now a singer known as Frankie Cosmos.
He added that Phoebe has consistently prioritized staying home with her children whenever she was scheduled to work. While she briefly appeared in her friend Jennifer Jason Leigh’s 2001 independent film, *The Anniversary Party*, Cates primarily focuses on running her New York City store, Blue Tree.

When he was most famous for films like *Ghostbusters* and *Honey, I Shrunk the Kids*, the actor paused his career after his wife sadly passed away from breast cancer in 1991. He wanted to dedicate his time to raising his children, Rachel and Mitchell.
Despite not appearing in a live-action movie since 1997 – he even turned down a quick appearance in the 2016 *Ghostbusters* remake – Rick remains a beloved figure, as shown by the strong reaction to news of an assault he experienced while walking in New York City in 2020. Fortunately, fans will be happy to hear he’s returning to the screen alongside Josh Gad in the upcoming Disney reboot, *Shrunk*.

After marrying fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, actress Drew Barrymore suggested she was considering stepping back from acting. She told Vogue that most roles require intimate scenes, and she wasn’t comfortable with that. While she felt her marriage was strong, she believed any potentially challenging work needed to be truly exceptional to be worth it.
After her son, Martin, joined his sister, Louisanna, in 2014, she firmly decided to step away from acting. She told *Us Weekly* in 2016 that she felt like an outsider to the movie world and was now completely focused on being a mom. She also mentioned she helps her husband, Kimmel, with his work and enjoys painting as a hobby, explaining that her children were the main reason she stopped acting.

I’ve been a huge fan of her work for years! She absolutely killed it in *Ally McBeal*, and then completely transformed herself with *Nip/Tuck*. *Arrested Development* showed off her comedic timing, and *Scandal* proved she could handle anything. Honestly, after seeing her tackle all those diverse roles, I started to get the feeling she was finally ready to take control of her career and choose projects that really spoke to her.
Turning 45, I started thinking about trying something completely new and challenging,” she shared on *The Ellen DeGeneres Show* in 2018. “I had a good idea of what my acting career would look like for the next decade or two, so I decided to leave that behind and start my own business.”
She was putting the finishing touches on her business, General Public, which created art for everyday people. She only had one piece left to complete.
I spoke with Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of *Arrested Development*, and told him I was done with acting, so I wouldn’t be in a potential season five. He was really supportive and understood, and we had a good talk. Surprisingly, he ended up writing me into five episodes anyway.

It’s understandable why, after winning three Oscars, an actor might consider retiring. Following his sixth Oscar nomination for the 2017 film *Phantom Thread*, the actor announced through his representative that he was retiring from acting. The statement expressed his gratitude to those he’d worked with and his audience over the years, and clarified that this was a personal decision, with no further comments to be made.
Just as Daniel Day-Lewis had announced his retirement from acting, a new project drew him back in. In October 2024, Focus Features revealed he would star in *Anemone*, a film he co-wrote with his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who will also be directing.

After finding fame on *Good Luck Charlie*, she decided to focus on her education in 2018. She went on to earn both a master’s degree and a PhD from MIT, and also studied at Harvard Law School.
On top of everything else, Bridgit also started her own company, Northwood Space, in February 2023. The company focuses on building ground stations that facilitate communication with satellites, and Bridgit became its CEO.
