Apple TV+ is releasing a new sci-fi romance movie this Friday called *All of You*. The film, which Apple acquired after a showing at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, explores what happens when science can identify your perfect match. It focuses on two longtime friends, played by Brett Goldstein (from *Ted Lasso*) and Imogen Poots (*Outer Range*), who have to confront their unspoken feelings for each other. The actors recently told ComicBook about how they developed the story and built their on-screen connection.
Goldstein explained that the film originated from a conversation with his co-writer and director, Will Bridges, about relationships. Bridges was getting married, and they started questioning the cultural idea that there’s only one perfect person for everyone. They found it a bit crazy to think one person could possibly meet all of your needs and solve all your problems. They also began to think about the significant connections people have with friends and others who aren’t romantic partners, and what those relationships really mean. The film became a way to explore these complex connections over time, and this concept allowed them to do so.

Goldstein and Poots portray former college friends who remain close, with a clear, unspoken romantic connection. They shared that they quickly established a strong on-screen chemistry, which helped them convincingly portray the relationship.
Poots described how she and her co-star bonded during rehearsals for the film. They’d spoken briefly on the phone beforehand, which she felt helped them connect. The real getting-to-know-you happened during downtime and casual hangouts, not in any structured way. She recalls a gradual shift where they simply *were* comfortable with each other, and she really appreciated that feeling.
Goldstein explained that she specifically chose to work with Imogen because they instantly connected. “I felt like we were already old friends,” she said, “so I knew we’d work well together.”
As a big Marvel fan, I loved Goldstein’s playful answer when asked about potentially joining the MCU as Hercules! They asked if he was still working out to stay in Hercules shape, referencing that post-credit scene in *Thor: Love and Thunder*, and he just laughed and said, “I’m always keeping in Hercules shape.” It was a great response and definitely left me hoping to see him as Hercules soon!
All of You premieres on Apple TV+ this Friday, September 26th.
