Alyssa Milanowasn’t charmed by comments about her body.
After having her breast implants removed, the former star of *Who’s the Boss* openly shared her thoughts and feelings about why she chose to have the surgery.
On September 24th, Alyssa shared on Instagram that she’s shedding old, untrue beliefs about herself. She’s releasing the idea that she needed to present herself in a way that was overly sexualized or that she had to endure abuse in order to be loved, successful, or happy. She’s letting go of a version of herself that wasn’t authentic.
The actress, married to David Bugliari and mother to 14-year-old Milo and 11-year-old Elizabella, wants to show her daughter that itâs important to avoid feeling pressured to meet unrealistic expectations.
Alyssa, who shared a cheerful hospital photo before her surgery, said that while this was the best choice for her, everyoneâs situation is different.
I want to emphasize that many women will feel empowered and beautiful with their implant choices,” she said. “What doesn’t feel right for me might be perfect for someone else, and I’m glad we can all define our own femininity and find peace in ways that work for us.
She also expressed gratitude towards celebrities such as Michelle Visage, praising her honesty and openness about her breast implants.
At 52, this medical procedure has helped her feel better about herself and look forward to the future.
She shared that she feels loved, feminine, attractive, and successful today, but emphasized that these feelings aren’t due to her breast implants. She confidently stated she’ll still feel all those things even after the implants are removed.
She went on to say that realizing who she truly was brought immense happiness and that releasing the expectations that didnât fit her felt liberating. ‘Today,’ she said, ‘Iâm finally being myself, and it feels amazing to be free.’
After undergoing the procedure, she included a health update on her announcement.
She finished by saying she was comfortable in bed, enjoying the meal her mother had prepared. She expressed gratitude for the kind messages and support sheâd received.
Alyssa isn’t alone in talking about her plastic surgery. Here are other celebrities who have also been open about their cosmetic procedures.
Travis Barkerâs daughter, whose mother is Shanna Moakler, has talked about getting lip fillers, but she insists she hasnât had any other cosmetic procedures.
In February 2024, she posted bikini photos on Instagram. One user commented, expressing concern that she may have had cosmetic surgery at a young age, while also saying she currently looks good.
The rapper said they were grateful for the support and emphasized their natural beauty, clarifying that their only cosmetic enhancement was lip filler.
In a 2015 interview with *Harper’s Bazaar U.K.*, Kristen Stewart said she would “never” consider plastic surgery. She admitted to being very uncomfortable with the idea, stating she doesn’t want to alter her appearance and believes those who do are making a mistake, even comparing it to damaging something intentionally.
Anne Hathaway, known for her role in *The Devil Wears Prada*, shared with *Good Housekeeping* in 2008 that accepting the aging process is important. She explained that life is a treasure, and losing loved ones makes you appreciate every day as a special gift.
In September 2025, Drake, the rapper behind “God’s Plan,” denied rumors he’d had plastic surgery on his abs. He explained that fans thought they looked more defined because he’d used a photo editing app.
He explained on the *Not This Again* podcast with Bobbi Althoff that heâd just come from the gym when the picture was taken, and was a bit sweaty. He thought he might have also increased the color saturation in the photo.
He added, “I think I hit it too hard. They don’t look like that.”
While Drake noted that people go under the knife “all the time,” he isnât one of them.
He added that people have been saying he had a Brazilian Butt Lift, and they’ve even started calling him ‘BBL Drizzy’.
The supermodel opened up about why she’s all about embracing her skin at every age.Â
In an August 2023 Instagram post, she shared a photo of her natural face at age 58, explaining she hadn’t had any fillers, Botox, or cosmetic surgery. She emphasized her decision to age naturally and avoid facial injections or procedures.
Sometimes, I actually like seeing my face change with age. While I might not be as traditionally pretty as I once was, I feel like my face now tells a story, and that feels like a good exchange.

The Oscar winner revealed whether or not she’s gotten plastic surgery.
In an August 2023 interview with *Allure*, she explained that her face is naturally changing with age, and she embraces it. She’s noticed people speculating she’s had plastic surgery, asking what she’s ‘done,’ but she clarifies that she’s simply getting older and hasn’t had any work done.
As someone who works in the public eye, I get asked a lot about cosmetic procedures. I’ll be honest, I’ve never had any injectables – no Botox, fillers, anything like that! And honestly, that’s a personal choice everyone makes. There’s absolutely no judgment from me – lots of people do it, and that’s totally fine! But for me, my face is how I earn a living, so I prefer to keep it natural.
She added, “Basically I’m terrified of f–king it up.”
The actress from *Magic Mike* recently clarified that she has not had Botox. She stated simply, “No Botox!” during an appearance on Kelly Ripa’s *Let’s Talk Off Camera* podcast.
Lana Del Rey addressed fan speculation about whether she’d had a nose job, confirming she hasn’t had any surgical work done.
In a September 2025 Instagram post, Lana shared that she’s never had surgery or been under anesthesia, marking her 15th consecutive year without it. She also mentioned that getting filler to reshape the bridge of the nose – like her doctor used to do – can create a smoother, taller-looking nose in just seven minutes, according to a screenshot obtained by *People* magazine.
Lana mentioned a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, which the Cleveland Clinic describes as using injectable fillers to reshape the nose. Unlike traditional rhinoplasty, itâs less invasive, but the effects are temporary, typically lasting around six months.
The supermodel, famous from the 1990s, filed a lawsuit in 2021 against Zeltiq Aesthetics. She claimed that a fat-reduction treatment she received from them in 2015 and 2016 caused lasting damage to her appearance. The case was settled in 2022.
In January 2021, while she was pregnant, the model addressed fan questions on Instagram, explaining that sheâs never had lip injections. She added that she doesnât judge those who do, saying they look great, but that itâs impossible to get injections while pregnant.

The actress from *Friends* had surgery as a young woman to correct a deviated septum, but she has publicly stated her opposition to Botox and other facial fillers.
She explained to Yahoo! Beauty in 2014 that Hollywood puts a lot of pressure on women to avoid looking their age. Sheâs noticed many actresses trying to stay young through procedures, and sheâs thankful she can learn from their experiences – she personally chooses not to get cosmetic injections.
The actress said she’s pretty much explored all options when it comes to cosmetic procedures. While she’s currently hesitant about surgery, she’d be open to trying anything around age 50. However, she won’t be repeating her Botox experience, joking that it made her look unnatural, in an interview with *Harper’s Bazaar* in 2013.
In a 2012 interview with *InStyle* magazine, actress and *Charlie’s Angels* star said, “Instead of struggling against things you can’t change, just accept them and move forward.”

In a 2011 interview with *The Telegraph*, the *Love Actually* actress explained her frustration with society’s obsession with youth, saying, “I’m not trying to change who I am. We live in a culture where everyone feels pressured to look 30, even when they’re 60.”
The Academy Award-winning actress explained to *MORE* magazine in 2007 that cosmetic surgery simply wasnât for her. She clarified she had no objections to others choosing it, saying, âEveryone should do what makes them happy.â However, personally, she preferred people noticing her natural features, even if they werenât considered âperfect.â Sheâd rather someone comment on her nose, for example, than assume sheâd had work done, because she didnât want to appear insecure about her natural self.
Back in 2011, the singer told Harper’s Bazaar that she believed encouraging people to get plastic surgery to fix perceived flaws is far more damaging than expressing creativity through body art or modifications.
