Halsey is getting candid with fans.
Singer Halsey, who revealed she has lupus and a rare blood disorder in 2024, recently updated fans on her health. She shared the news as she looks forward to a new chapter in her career.
I wanted to quickly share an update,” she said in a TikTok on September 25th. “I recently finished a few more chemotherapy sessions and had a new port installed.

I was really touched when Halsey responded to a fan comment about her health treatments. Someone mentioned their husband goes through similar things with lupus and cancer, and asked how she was doing. It meant a lot that she actually shared more details, letting us know how she’s coping with everything.
Halsey explained in a comment that she often experiences periods of being unable to stand for a week or longer. She mentioned that fans usually see her when she’s feeling better and has more energy, but the recovery process itself takes a significant amount of time, even though it can feel like it goes by quickly.
She went on to publicly thank her friend’s husband for being so strong and open about his mental health journey, sending love to them both.
Halsey also wanted to let her fans know she’s getting ready to go on tour, in addition to sharing a health update. She and her ex, Alev Aydin, share a four-year-old son named Ender.
She excitedly shared that the Back to Badlands show is finished and will be incredible. She added that it’s been so hectic preparing, she hadn’t even had time to think about her upcoming birthday.
She shared that rehearsals are starting very soon and she’s thrilled. She’s incorporating fun, nostalgic elements from her Badlands tour into the show, and will be performing the entire album, along with some other great songs.
Halsey has been supported by her fiancé, Avan Jogia, through both challenging and joyful times. They became engaged in September 2024. She’s often spoken about how he’s strong and resilient, able to face whatever life brings.

I was so saddened to learn that Lupita Nyong’o was diagnosed with uterine fibroids back in 2014. These are non-cancerous growths that happen in or around the uterus, and it was the same year she rightfully won her Oscar – what a strong woman to deal with that while achieving such incredible success!
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many girls are told to expect pain with their periods and to accept it as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves people feeling like they’re dealing with a difficult experience on their own, when it actually affects a lot of us.

It sounds absolutely awful, and I’m sending him all my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although her symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack), often called a ‘mini-stroke.’ Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now doing well.
The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side, resulting in complete paralysis. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on *Good Morning America* that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was grateful he was fine.
Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
He initially saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then spent time in Chicago undergoing rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.
The reality TV star shared that she temporarily stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show.
You know, I’ve spoken to a lot of people about near-death experiences, and this one really stuck with me. She shared with me on the show *Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser* that her memory of that day is fragmented. She recalls the sound of a helicopter, a strange feeling of floating, and then… seeing her grandfather. After that, it was darkness, followed by light. She said in that moment, she *knew* she had died. It’s a powerful story, and really highlights how profoundly life-altering those moments can be.
She explained that her organs were failing and she hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.
Emilia Clarke, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for *The New Yorker*. While filming the show, she experienced a severe headache at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain – due to a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, describing the pain as “unbearable.” During recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure initially failed, causing a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”
Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, credits her family with helping her through a difficult time. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, who quickly came to her aid. She told TopMob News that everyone “came to my rescue.”
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. In addition to recovering from the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.
Now, Cori is recovering well. She says she’s “doing great” and is regaining her motor skills, and is otherwise feeling fine.
Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing hours of rest – and persistent stomach pain. She faced confusion due to conflicting diagnoses from different doctors.
Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has kept the specific condition private, combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being spanned a decade.
She explained that the physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.
Fortunately, after years of focusing on both her physical and mental health, Woodley is now feeling much better and is happy to report that she is very healthy and the issues have resolved themselves.
