It’s easy to see why Studio MAPPA is now a leading name in anime. They’ve created many popular and critically acclaimed series, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan’s final season, Vinland Saga season two, Chainsaw Man, and a long list of other successful shows. Of all their projects, the story of Gabimura and his journey across the dangerous island of Shinsenkyo is arguably their most intense. After a very violent first season, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku has announced when season two will premiere, and a new trailer gives a sneak peek at what viewers can expect.
It was officially announced today that the second season of Hell’s Paradise will premiere in January of next year. The first season, which consisted of thirteen episodes, aired in 2023, so viewers will be waiting approximately three years to find out if Gabimaru makes it off the dangerous island. The recently released trailer showcases several new characters who are heading to this monster-filled location. Fortunately, MAPPA has revealed the voice actors and the characters they will be portraying when the new season arrives in 2026.
Hell’s Paradise is Growing
Here’s an update on the new voice actors who are joining the cast. This details who they are and the characters they will be playing next year:
- Ryota Suzuki (Dr. Stone) – Shugen
- Koji Yusa (Blue Exorcist) – Jikka
- Maaya Uchida (Grand Blue Dreaming) – Kiyomaru
- Sayaka Ohara (Fairy Tail) – Isuzu
Let’s recap where we left off with Hell’s Paradise season one. Things were getting increasingly difficult for Gabimaru, the ninja who controls fire, as he realized the island was impacting his mental state. At the same time, the other characters were trying to defeat the Tensen – the immortal beings thriving in the monster-filled land of Shinsenkyo. Taking down a Tensen proved incredibly challenging, as these immortal villains could change their form and didn’t seem to have many vulnerabilities. With the released prisoners still searching for the elixir of life to save themselves, the newest trailer suggests the MAPPA-animated series is about to get even more intense.
It’s interesting to note that one of the biggest challenges for Hell’s Paradise next January will come from within MAPPA itself. The studio intends to launch season three of Jujutsu Kaisen in early 2026, putting Gabimaru and Yuji Itadori in direct competition. Next month, MAPPA will also release Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc in North America, which highlights how much the studio is currently taking on. As Studio MAPPA gains recognition for producing some of the most popular and intense anime, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku could be considered its most disturbing and violent story yet.
