The newest sports comedy show on Apple TV+, has swiftly gained immense popularity on their streaming service, maintaining its leading position for more than a week.
According to recent rankings, the show “Stick” has been dominating Apple’s Top 10 TV Shows in the United States since July 5, holding the top spot for over a week now. The series is not only popular within the U.S., but it’s also garnering significant global attention. Its worldwide average ranking currently hovers around 2.5 (with a high of 1.4 yesterday). In this show, Pryce Cahill, who was once a professional golfer and now works as a golf club salesman and coach, helps a promising young golfer on his way to success.
The show titled “Stick” premiered on Apple TV on June 4, releasing three episodes at once. Fresh episodes have been added every week since then, with the entire first season of ten episodes wrapping up on July 23. Alongside Wilson, the main cast includes Peter Dager as Santi Wheeler, a young golfer who is mentored by Wilson’s character. The ensemble also features Lilli Kay, Mariana Trevino, and Mar Maron.
The creator shared that the idea for the show sprang from his fascination with developing the character, Pryce Cahill. He expressed that this was the starting point for the series. His interest lay in portraying a former professional athlete who suddenly finds himself 25 years after his prime athletic days. Thus, the series originated around this unique scenario, and Pryce served as the entry point or starting line.
Keller further asserts that viewers don’t need prior golf knowledge to fully appreciate the show. Instead, he suggests that if they allow themselves to be touched by it, they will find it moving and uplifting. In his words, “If I had to sum up what I hope audiences take away from this show, it would be a sense of affirmation, positivity, and overall feelings of happiness.
Stick Stars Praise Owen Wilson in New Sports Comedy

Maron expressed his thoughts on working alongside Wilson in the show, stating, “Performing a character next to Owen’s, where there are heavy emotional undertones – navigating humorously through a compelling storyline with careful attention to character development and plot progression… I found it incredibly nuanced, offering both emotional depth and release.
Stick is now streaming on Apple TV+.
