For more than ten years, *The Walking Dead* has been a huge success on television, turning a relatively unknown comic book into a worldwide hit. Starting in 2010, the show changed horror television and drew in millions of viewers with its dark and realistic portrayal of a world after a zombie outbreak. The show’s popularity led to several spin-offs, including *Fear the Walking Dead*, *The Walking Dead: Dead City*, and *The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon*, which have continued to tell stories and explore different parts of this undead world. Now, fans who are willing to spend a lot of money have a unique chance to own props and items actually used during filming, as they are being released directly from the show’s archives.
AMC Networks is teaming up with Heritage Auctions to offer fans a huge auction of items from The Walking Dead Universe. Over 1,000 props and costumes from all eleven seasons of the show and its spin-offs will be up for grabs. Some of the most iconic items include Rick Grimes’ revolver, Daryl Dixon’s original crossbow, Michonne’s katana, and Negan’s bat, Lucille – all used on screen.
This auction isn’t just about props – it features complete costumes worn by the show’s main characters. Fans can bid on outfits like Glenn’s original Season 1 gear, Michonne’s signature look, and several versions of Rick’s sheriff uniform. The sale also includes bigger items like Dale’s Winnebago and Daryl’s motorcycle. And for the truly dedicated, even pieces related to the Walkers – including original makeup effects and the famous ‘Bicycle Girl’ costume from the pilot – are available.
How Much Would It Cost to Own an Official Walking Dead Prop?
For fans hoping to own a piece of *The Walking Dead*, it’s going to be expensive. Surprisingly, there isn’t just one most expensive item – several props all share the same high starting bid of $10,000. This exclusive group includes iconic weapons like Rick Grimes’ .357 Magnum, Daryl Dixon’s crossbow, and Negan’s baseball bat, “Lucille.” Even Michonne’s complete outfit is priced at this level. Major vehicles, such as Daryl’s motorcycle and a truck from *Fear the Walking Dead*, are also available at the same price, making them equally valuable pieces of the show’s history.
Not all items require a large investment, though. Many other key props are available at more affordable prices. For example, Rick Grimes’ famous Stetson hat – later worn by Carl and Judith – starts at $5,000. The hospital doors from the very first episode, with the chilling message “DON’T OPEN / DEAD INSIDE,” are available for a starting bid of $2,500. And for fans on a tighter budget, the auction features a huge selection of costumes, smaller props, and behind-the-scenes items from throughout *The Walking Dead* series, offering many chances to own a genuine piece of the show.
Fans can now bid on items from *The Walking Dead Universe* at Heritage Auctions. The auction runs from October 30th to November 1st.
Okay, fellow TV fans, if I could snag just *one* thing from *The Walking Dead*, what would it be? Seriously, I’m dying to know what you all would choose! Let me know in the comments, and let’s chat about it over on the ComicBook Forum – come join the discussion!
