At this year’s Anime Expo panel for “My Hero Academia,” creator Horikoshi shared some exclusive insights about the upcoming eighth and final season. In terms of the new scenes, he mentioned that since the manga has concluded, he can collaborate more closely with the production studio on the anime production. This has provided him an opportunity to propose additional scenes and deeper emotional depth for the performances. In addition to the news that the last season of “My Hero Academia” will include additional scenes not found in the manga, something significant is on the horizon this month. During the panel, both the English and Japanese voice actors for Deku confirmed that July 15th won’t just be celebrating Deku’s birthday, but will also offer a special gift to fans. As the premiere date in October draws nearer, it seems likely that a new trailer will soon emerge to give fans of Class 1-A a closer look at the final battle.
After the final episode of the manga, Horikoshi hasn’t given any indication yet about revisiting the superhero world. Given how the story concluded, this isn’t surprising. However, no official spin-off or sequel series has been announced, leaving room for possibilities on screen. Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that My Hero Academia: Vigilantes would return for a second season, implying that Crawler, Pop Step, and Knuckleduster will be the remaining heroes portrayed. Although not confirmed, there’s speculation that Deku and his friends might reappear in a new movie focusing on events post-series finale, which would delight fans of UA Academy given the success of the four preceding films.
