Okay, so Xbox Game Pass has been changing a lot lately. The biggest thing? The Ultimate subscription got a price hike. But hey, they *did* add some cool perks and features across all the Game Pass tiers, which is nice. Plus, they’ve been throwing in surprise games to the library, so there’s always something new to check out. Honestly, with so many games coming and going, I’m always trying to figure out which ones are actually worth my time each month!
Xbox Game Pass has a fantastic selection of games right now, whether you have the Essential, Core, or Ultimate subscription. I’ve carefully chosen 7 top games, looking at all the different subscription levels to ensure there’s something great for every Game Pass member to enjoy right away.
7. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Premium & Ultimate; Xbox Game Pass PC
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC
Just released in its full 1.0 version, *Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor* is a fun and engaging bullet hell game. You’ll explore different environments to mine resources while battling hordes of alien bugs. Like I mentioned in my review, the game is incredibly addictive and just feels great to play.
Since this game was recently added to Game Pass, it should be available for a good while. However, it has a lot of levels, so if you’re planning to play, I recommend starting soon. It costs $12.99 to purchase, but it’s a great option to try it out with your Game Pass subscription first.
6. Hogwarts Legacy

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Premium & Ultimate; Xbox Game Pass for PC
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC
This month, the popular Harry Potter role-playing game, *Hogwarts Legacy*, unexpectedly became available on Xbox Game Pass. Even though the game has been around for a few years, it’s still enjoyed by many players, especially those who like relaxing games and fans of the Harry Potter series. While there’s talk of a sequel, it probably won’t be released for several years, making now a great time to play or revisit this game if you’ve been meaning to.
Hogwarts Legacy takes place before the Harry Potter stories you know. It’s an open-world role-playing game where you create your own wizard or witch and live a brand-new adventure. Normally, the game costs $69.99, but it’s included with an Xbox Game Pass Premium subscription, making it a great value.
5. Disney Dreamlight Valley

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, & Ultimate; Xbox Game Pass for PC
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Disney Dreamlight Valley is a hugely popular and relaxing game, and it’s easy to see why! In this life simulation, you get to create and customize your own valley, inviting all your favorite Disney characters to move in. You’ll build friendships with them, which opens up new adventures and lets you meet even more characters, all as you work to restore the Valley after a mysterious event called the Forgetting.
If you’re interested in trying *Disney Dreamlight Valley*, the Game Pass version is a good starting point. It lets you play the main game, but doesn’t include any downloadable content, which you’ll have to purchase separately. Since it’s been available on Game Pass for a while, it seems likely to stay there for the foreseeable future.
4. Octopath Traveler 1 + 2

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Premium & Ultimate; Xbox Game Pass for PC
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Both *Octopath Traveler* and *Octopath Traveler II* are available on Xbox Game Pass, so I’m including them together. These JRPGs from Square Enix are visually stunning and feature interesting characters with a captivating story. Plus, *Octopath Traveler II* is a fantastic sequel that lives up to the original game.
A new *Octopath Traveler* game is coming soon! If you haven’t played the first two, now’s a good time to start. They usually cost $59.99 each, but you can play both with an Xbox Game Pass Premium subscription for one monthly price.
3. Balatro

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Premium & Ultimate; Xbox Game Pass for PC
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Balatro is a truly special indie game, and it’s easy to see why it’s become so popular. While it takes inspiration from poker, it quickly establishes itself as a unique experience. The game centers around building a powerful deck of cards and using it to overcome challenging bosses and unexpected twists.
At just $14.99, *Balatro* is a reasonably priced game. It’s a bit different from most, so it might be worth trying before you commit to buying it. And if my friends are anything to go by, you’ll find it incredibly addictive once you start playing!
2. Hades

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, & Ultimate
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC
I don’t even want to think about how much time I’ve spent playing *Hades 2*! But before that amazing sequel came out, there was the first *Hades* game. If you’re hearing all the hype about *Hades 2* and want to see what it’s all about, the original is available on Xbox Game Pass with your subscription.
Hades consistently wins awards, and it’s easy to see why. The game is incredibly fun to play, with gorgeous visuals, amazing voice acting, and fantastic sound. Even though it came out a while ago, it’s a must-play, especially if you have Game Pass.
1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Included With: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate; Xbox Game Pass for PC
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC
Good news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers! The highly-rated game *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, a contender for Game of the Year, is now available. While you’ll need the $30 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to play, you can still find one-month subscriptions at the previous price at GameStop. It’s definitely worth checking out – it’s one of the best new games on Xbox Game Pass.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is getting great reviews for its interesting characters and captivating story. If you enjoy role-playing games, this is a title you won’t want to miss. At $50, it’s a good value, and just one more reason why an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is worthwhile this month.
