Johann Schmidt, commonly known as the Red Skull, held a prominent position within the Nazi regime. Additionally, he oversaw a specialized division tasked with developing powerful weapons capable of unimaginable and irreversible devastation.

In this position, Schmidt underwent an experimental transformation, turning him into a formidable soldier boasting strength and resilience far surpassing normal human limits. However, this process also drastically altered his physical appearance, making him look less than fully human, with skin as bright as red and a skull-like facial structure.

In the heat of our clash during World War II against Steve Rogers, I, in a moment that felt like my end, plunged into what seemed like oblivion – but fate had other plans. Blessed with the might of the Tesseract, I was mysteriously whisked away to Vormir, where I transformed into one who safeguards the Soul Stone, a Guardian in every sense.

Following the occurrences in both “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” it seems that Red Skull remains unconfined. Despite spending decades contemplating and reflecting on an alien world, this fearsome character somehow found a way to outsmart death despite his heinous actions.

Why The MCU Hasn’t Killed Red Skull Off Yet

Red Skull Appears To Be Beyond Reproach In The MCU

It’s clear that Red Skull exhibits monstrous behavior, whether it was during his earthly existence or as an enhanced villain. He consistently inflicted unimaginable atrocities upon others. One would think such a person would face justice, but surprisingly, Red Skull seems to be walking free.

On the planet Vormir, he might have been bound to the Soul Stone as a slave, but since the stone has been moved from its location, it remains uncertain if Red Skull continues to watch over it or if he embarked on a journey into the vastness of space. Regardless, his fate seems incomplete and unfair for a character who arguably deserved more consideration compared to other Marvel villains.

With the Infinity Saga concluded and Steve Rogers deceased, it appears that the narrative surrounding the Red Skull no longer holds much relevance. Given his apparent escape from capture, it seems that he has eluded justice, continuing to live without facing consequences for his heinous actions.

There’s a chance that he might reappear in either “Avengers: Endgame” or “Avengers: Secret Wars,” but given the abundance of characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it appears quite improbable. In the end, though the heroes in the MCU are ready to eliminate villains, Red Skull remains alive and seems to have escaped any consequences for his actions.
