Steam has just released three free PC games that players can download and own. While they might not be the most groundbreaking titles of the month, they stand out because they’re completely free – and have no in-app purchases. It’s currently unclear if these games are compatible with the Steam Deck, or how well they would run on it, as compatibility hasn’t been confirmed.
Two free PC games on Steam are incredibly popular with users, boasting 100% and 97% approval ratings. While being free likely contributes to this positive reception, we’ve noticed that when paid games are offered for free, their ratings sometimes *decrease*. This seems to happen because more people try the game without a strong initial interest. A third free game on Steam hasn’t received enough reviews yet to have a rating.
Spray N’ Pray
Spray N’ Pray is a retro-style, action-packed shooter reminiscent of classic games like DOOM. Players take on the role of Justinian, battling demons through a cathedral with a pair of revolvers. As of today, the game has a very positive user rating of 97%.
One player review said the game was really fun, with a unique and engaging story and world. They felt it captured the essence of good gaming and wished it had been longer.
Unknown Fluffy Objects
Currently, Unknown Fluffy Objects is a Steam game with a perfect 100% rating. It’s a puzzle game played from a third-person perspective where you control Buddy, a dog tasked with herding sheep and protecting them from a UFO that’s trying to abduct them.
One player called the game “super cute” and said it’s perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing experience where you can fling sheep around. They highly recommend it.
The Last Shores
In The Last Shores, a 3D adventure game viewed from above, you play as a recent graduate sent to clean up a deserted island as part of an internship. But you quickly discover the island holds secrets beyond what you initially expected.
One player review of *The Last Shores* said, “Considering it’s a free game, this is surprisingly good. You can really tell the creators put a lot of effort into it.”
If you’re not interested in these free Steam games, there’s another popular option, but you’ll need to download it quickly! We’d love to hear your thoughts – feel free to leave a comment or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum.
