The WWE’s Crown Jewel event kicked off with a wild Australian street fight, building anticipation for John Cena’s last match in Perth. Then, two of WWE’s biggest stars battled for the Championship. Both competitors had incredible years leading up to the event, making the match about more than just the title. Ultimately, a new champion was crowned, a long-standing undefeated streak was broken, and fans are already demanding a rematch.
At WWE Crown Jewel, Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer faced off in the first of two championship matches. More than just a title was at stake, as Stratton entered the match with an undefeated record in 2025, having defeated top stars like Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Trish Stratus. However, Vaquer proved to be Stratton’s undoing, winning the WWE Crown Jewel Championship and ending Stratton’s winning streak.
Stephanie Vaquer Delivers Statement Win Against WWE’s Undefeated Champion
Stratton had built an amazing winning streak, defeating several top competitors and demonstrating her exceptional talent along the way. Many fans expected her to win her match against Vaquer, but a single error allowed Vaquer to seize the opportunity and win.
It’s important to remember that Vaquer was on a fantastic winning streak coming into this match. She’s had an incredible first year with WWE, and many consider it one of the best rookie years ever. Before joining the main roster, she was a champion in NXT, and quickly became the Women’s World Champion on Raw. Given her success, if anyone was likely to defeat Stratton, it was Vaquer.
Okay, so the match was incredible! Both wrestlers really showed everyone why they’re such big deals. Stratton came out strong, hitting Vaquer with some amazing moves, including a killer combo leading into an Alabama Slam – I honestly thought that was going to be it! But Vaquer fired back with her signature offense, and even threw in a fantastic tribute to Eddie Guerrero with her Devil’s Kiss – it was a really cool moment.

Wow, that match was absolutely incredible! It went right down to the very end, and both women were giving it everything they had. I was on the edge of my seat when Stratton went for her moonsault – it’s usually so perfect, but this time she just didn’t quite connect. Vaquer smartly rolled out of the way, and then capitalized immediately, hitting a beautiful Corkscrew Splash and securing the pinfall for the win! What a moment!
Honestly, seeing Vaquer get that Crown Jewel Championship ring from Triple H was really touching. It’s a huge deal considering only Liv Morgan has held that title before, winning it from Nia Jax last year. And wow, that match with Stratton was incredible! They *have* to do a rematch, it’s a must-see. The only problem is they’re champions on different shows, which makes it tricky. I’m really hoping Survivor Series gives us another chance to see them go at it again, because after that performance, it would be a real shame if we had to wait a long time for a rematch.
