Charlie Cox will be back as Daredevil in Season 2 of *Born Again*, and he’ll have a new suit! It’s typical for Marvel superheroes to get costume updates – as soon as they settle into one look, designers start adding more armor, details, and sometimes even bolder colors. Cox has worn several Daredevil outfits already, from the original, simple black suit in the first season on Netflix, to the well-known red versions, and even the controversial yellow suit in *She-Hulk*. Thankfully, the new costume for *Daredevil: Born Again* Season 2 is a hit.
The latest Daredevil costume is now faithful to the comics, featuring the iconic double-D symbol on Charlie Cox’s chest. It also has a darker, more intense color scheme, preparing him for an all-out battle with Kingpin for control of New York City. Chris Killian from ComicBook recently spoke with Cox at New York Comic Con and asked him about the new look.
Chris Killian was asked what it felt like to finally wear the Daredevil costume, considering he’d tried on many different versions of it over the years.
It’s amazing! I honestly didn’t think it would ever happen. For years, fans have been asking about it, and they really made it happen – I never even brought it up myself. I just waited for the right moment. It took over a decade, and it felt incredible. Usually, when we’re filming in a new suit, we try to keep it a secret to avoid spoilers. But when I learned I was getting the ‘double Ds,’ I actually *wanted* paparazzi photos. I wanted everyone to see it because I was so proud!
Daredevil’s New Look Finally Restores Something Most Adaptations Ignored
Interestingly, the iconic “DD” logo has been missing from Daredevil’s costume in almost every adaptation. Only Ben Affleck’s movie version included it, and even then, it was a small, almost insignificant detail. Charlie Cox’s portrayal, which is much more faithful to the comics, finally includes the logo, and fans who appreciate accuracy will be thrilled.
As a fan, it totally makes sense why Daredevil would start publicly embracing his identity, especially with Kingpin cracking down on vigilantes. Murdock’s become a symbol of resistance, and it feels like Season 2 is building towards a huge fight with Fisk. Flaunting the Daredevil logo feels like a direct challenge – he’s really sticking it to Fisk, making a bold statement. Honestly, the timing feels perfect; it’s a really smart move narratively.
The second season of *Daredevil: Born Again* is coming to Disney+ in March! What are your thoughts? Share your opinions and discuss it with other fans in the ComicBook Forum!
