The *Naruto* series is a beloved classic in the Shonen genre, and as the story unfolded, the characters became increasingly powerful. By the end of the original *Naruto* series, the introduction of Kaguya Otsutsuki – an alien being and the source of the Chakra system – led to a massive escalation in power levels, far beyond anything seen before.
As the sequel to *Naruto*, *Boruto* naturally features characters with even greater power. Because of this, the strongest characters on this list are primarily from *Boruto*, particularly members of the Otsutsuki clan. However, a few iconic characters from the original *Naruto* series also make an appearance, including Naruto himself – it wouldn’t be right to leave him out.
10) Eida

First on this list is Eida, a character with incredibly powerful abilities who switched Boruto and Kawaki’s fates. Created as part of Amado’s experiments, Eida is known for her clairvoyance, which makes anyone who sees it instantly fall in love with and want to protect her, preventing them from ever wanting to hurt her.
Her powers only work on people without any connection to the Ōtsutsuki clan, meaning individuals like Boruto and Kawaki are immune. Even with this restriction, her ability is incredibly strong – arguably one of the most powerful seen in the series. The fact that she can change reality for everyone on Earth concerning Boruto and Kawaki puts her power at a near-godlike level, especially considering her lineage traces back to Shibai Ōtsutsuki. However, Sarada and Sumire being unaffected hints at a weakness that the story might address in the future.
9) Kawaki

Kawaki, Boruto’s adoptive brother and a key character in the ongoing story, is already incredibly powerful. This makes sense, as he’s predicted to have a final, major battle with Boruto. He’s more than just a skilled ninja; he might be Amado’s most impressive creation. Now that he fully controls his Karma and can use Isshiki Ōtsutsuki’s special abilities, Kawaki is a truly formidable opponent.
Recent events in *Boruto: Two Blue Vortex* show that Kawaki will keep getting stronger, working with Boruto to fight the Divine Tree. He’s especially determined to protect Naruto from Jura, and it will be interesting to see just how powerful Kawaki becomes in his efforts to do so.
8) Daemon

Daemon is a powerful being created from the remains of the legendary Shibai Ōtsutsuki. He has a unique ability called Saint Reflection, which automatically redirects any harm done to him back to the attacker. Even simply *trying* to hurt him can be fatal for the attacker. Because of this incredible defense, no one has ever been able to successfully attack Daemon, proving he’s in a class of his own.
Daemon is also incredibly physically strong, almost unmatched by anyone. His power does have one catch: he needs to be touching someone to take on attacks meant for them. Even so, it’s a remarkably potent ability, working on its own without him needing to think about it once he makes physical contact.
7) Momoshiki

Momoshiki was the first big bad guy in the *Boruto* series, and he showed everyone that future villains would be incredibly powerful, like the Ōtsutsuki clan. While he said he was as strong as Kaguya, he actually had to combine with his teammate just to have a chance against Naruto and Sasuke.
Momoshiki was a powerful Ōtsutsuki with many abilities, but Naruto and Sasuke were able to defeat him through teamwork. They had much more trouble with Kaguya, ultimately having to seal her away. This shows Momoshiki wasn’t as strong as Kaguya, even though he was still a formidable opponent. Because of his importance to the story of *Boruto*, it’s possible Momoshiki could return in the future, potentially even more powerful.
6) Boruto

Boruto, the main character of the *Naruto* sequel series, is quickly becoming one of the most powerful characters ever seen, and is currently the strongest ninja alive. This progression suggests he’s on track to become incredibly powerful, potentially even rivaling gods, and ultimately face them in a final battle. The series has developed his abilities by giving him powers passed down from legendary ninjas of the past.
Boruto has inherited powerful skills from both his father and his teacher, Sasuke, even mastering Sasuke’s sword fighting style. He also has his own special technique called Uzuhiko. Because Momoshiki lives inside him, Boruto has incredible potential and is likely to become the strongest ninja of all time.
5) Naruto

Naruto is widely considered the strongest ninja ever, and he’s earned that reputation. However, he likely wouldn’t be on this list without “Baryon Mode,” a power he used during his battle with Isshiki. Baryon Mode isn’t just Naruto’s strongest form—it’s the most powerful transformation seen in the whole series.
This ability let Naruto absorb the life energy of anyone he hit, effectively erasing them from existence. He used it to finally defeat the incredibly strong Isshiki. If he could have used this power again, Naruto would have become the most powerful being alive, potentially even surpassing the gods.
4) Kaguya

The biggest bad guy in the original *Naruto* series is the last of the *Naruto* villains on this list, and she’s the one who really changed how powerful everyone was. While other members of the Ōtsutsuki clan, like Momoshiki and Isshiki, were defeated, Kaguya wasn’t killed – she was sealed away instead.
During her final battle against her sons, Naruto, and Sasuke, Kaguya was too powerful to be defeated directly, so they were forced to seal her away. This sealing doesn’t change the fact that she was incredibly strong – her many abilities proved she was one of the most powerful members of the Ōtsutsuki clan, even stronger than Momoshiki.
3) Isshiki

Isshiki Ōtsutsuki was originally intended as the primary villain in the *Naruto* series. He was the first of his clan to arrive on Earth with Kaguya, until she turned against him. He managed to survive for thousands of years and almost succeeded in transferring his power to Kawaki using a special mark called Karma.
Isshiki quickly established himself as an incredibly strong opponent in his initial form, Jigen, even managing to fight both Naruto and Sasuke at the same time. While nearly impossible to defeat, he was ultimately weakened by Naruto’s Baryon Mode, which exhausted his life force. Despite being on the brink of death, Isshiki’s immense power was clear, and if he had been able to consume the Chakra Fruit and gain another Karma, he would have become even more powerful.
2) Jura

Jura is the primary villain in the *Boruto* series and is quickly becoming one of its most powerful characters, potentially the strongest in the entire *Naruto* franchise. Being the physical form of the Ten-Tails, Jura possesses incredible strength and ninja skills, fully representing the power of that massive beast.
During his recent fight with Kawaki and Boruto, Jura seemed to reach a new level of power. Kashin Koji, who can see the future, had a vision of Jura actually being able to *sense* him. This suggests that Jura is the strongest character in *Boruto* and is quickly becoming more powerful than anyone else.
1) Shibai Otsutsuki

The arrival of the Otsutsuki clan dramatically increased the overall power levels in the series, and it became clear that any new, incredibly strong characters would likely have a connection to them. The introduction of Shibai Otsutsuki took the clan’s power to a whole new level, establishing him as the ultimate member – a being comparable to a god.
Shibai Otsutsuki appears only in the *Boruto* series. He gained immense power by consuming many Chakra Trees and repeatedly using Karma to revive himself. Eventually, he gave up his physical form and moved to a higher plane of existence. Even his remains were powerful enough to create incredibly strong individuals like Eida and Daemon. It’s clear that Shibai is the strongest character in the entire *Naruto* franchise, and he’s likely to stay that way.
