The symbiote arrived through a portal in the premiere episode, “Amazing Fantasy,” alongside the spider that gave Peter Parker his powers at Midtown High. As Colman Domingo’s Norman Osborn guided Parker and we witnessed his initial experiences as Spider-Man, the true source of his abilities was gradually revealed.
As a huge Spider-Man fan, I was completely blown away by the reveal of how the Symbiote arrived! It turns out that portal wasn’t just some random thing – it was actually a window into the future. And get this: the spider that brought the Symbiote was injected with Peter Parker’s *own* blood, but from the future! It’s a crazy paradox, because that future blood is what originally *gave* him his powers in the first place. We even see a glimpse of a future where Spider-Man is teaming up with Doctor Strange, voiced by Robin Atkin Downes, to battle an alien threat that came through a gateway Norman Osborn warned everyone about. Honestly, the whole Symbiote storyline in the season one finale of *Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man*, “If This Be My Destiny…,” perfectly set up the arrival of Venom in season two. It was a fantastic build-up!
Season one of *Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man* may have shown us the Symbiote’s home planet, setting the stage for Venom to appear in season two.
