*WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE STRICTLY COME DANCING WEEK 3 RESULTS SHOW*
Week three of Strictly Come Dancing had a movie theme, with the celebrities and their partners dancing to iconic songs from both classic and modern films.
Lewis Cope and Katya Jones received the highest score – a 37 – for their energetic Paso Doble, performed to music from *The Mask of Zorro*.
Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin finished in third place, earning a score of 35 for their American Smooth dance to “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” from The Sound of Music.
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Karen Hauer received a score of 32 for their Salsa, performed to the song ‘I Always Wanted a Brother’ from Disney’s ‘The Lion King’.
However, things weren’t as positive for Ross King and Jowita Przystał, whose Paso Doble, set to the Thunderbirds Are Go theme, only received a score of 19, even though the judges had offered them positive comments.
Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon also participated in the dance competition. They performed a Foxtrot to the song “The Way You Look Tonight” from the film *Swing Time* and received a score of 26, placing them ninth on the leaderboard.
Ross King was eliminated after the judges chose to save Balvinder. Craig, Motsi, and Anton all voted to keep Balvinder in the competition, and head judge Shirley said she would have done the same if she’d had the deciding vote.

Visibly emotional, Ross shared how much he enjoyed his time on the show, saying, “I’ve truly loved every moment.” He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them and to all the viewers who voted, calling their support incredible.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone here – those in the audience, the people working behind the scenes, the judges, and the entire crew. Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive.
Ross took a moment to express his gratitude to his partner, calling her his rock and highlighting all the ways she’s supported him – as a mentor, teacher, and caregiver. He said he couldn’t have asked for a better partner or a better experience on the show, and thanked the judges for their feedback.
Jowita also shared heartfelt praise for Ross, thanking him for his dedication and hard work throughout rehearsals. She said they shared many laughs and even a few tears, and expressed hope that she would remain a part of his life going forward.
The remaining thirteen couples will return to the dancefloor next week.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 18 October at 6:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
