Have Netflix users finally gotten what they asked for? It seems they have! Netflix has added a new category designed to make browsing easier and help break the endless scrolling habit. This builds on a smaller feature that previously only appeared as a tag on some movie and show previews.
For a long time, Netflix only gave a small warning on movies and shows that were about to disappear from the service, and included a date on the program’s information page. There wasn’t an easy way to see everything that would soon be removed. Now, Netflix is changing that with a new feature called “Last Chance to Watch,” which groups all departing shows and films in one place.
Netflix Has Been Quietly Updating Its UI
Netflix recently added a “Last Chance to Watch” category, which many users have been requesting. This comes as the streaming service has also been updating its user interface across all devices – TVs, phones, tablets, and computers. While the changes are significant, user reactions have been largely negative.
Netflix said the recent changes were designed to make the app easier to use, but many users disagree. One user described the new layout as “absolutely horrible,” noting the removal of helpful sections like “Released this week” and “Worth the wait.” They explained that everything is now grouped under “Coming Soon,” which is located far down the page and difficult to navigate. The user also criticized the large tile sizes and poor category organization, stating that their Netflix experience is now worse than Prime Video.
Will Netflix regaining control of its content library be enough to win back viewers? It’s a positive step – arguably the best improvement they’ve made recently, even considering some of their more unusual design choices.
