Alec Baldwin Speaks Out After Car Crash With Brother Stephen Baldwin

Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin were involved in a terrifying incident.

I was so relieved to hear that Tracy Morgan and his brother are okay! Apparently, he drove his Range Rover right into a tree in East Hampton, New York, but thankfully, they both walked away safe. It was definitely scary news, but I’m glad they’re alright.

“This morning, I was in a car accident,” Alec said in an Oct. 13 Instagram video. “I’m fine.”

He reported that a very large garbage truck unexpectedly pulled in front of him while he was driving his wife, Hilaria Baldwin’s, car in East Hampton.

Alec explained that in trying to avoid hitting someone, he’d crashed into a tree, which badly damaged his wife’s car. He added that he felt terrible about the damage to her car.

He said everything was okay with him, his brother, and himself, but his wife’s car was badly damaged by a large tree.

Alec Baldwin expressed his thanks to the East Hampton Police Department and shared that he’s planning a trip to be with Hilaria and their children: Carmen, 11, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 7, Eduardo and María Lucía, both 4, and Ilaria, 2.

He said he was heading to Los Angeles to visit his family. He’s really looking forward to it – he plans to get everyone together in California for a few days before returning home.

Alec also mentioned Hilaria’s recent departure from *Dancing With the Stars*, expressing his love and pride for her. He said he’s incredibly proud of her and loves her more than anything.

For his part, Stephen also spoke out about the car crash, confirming he, too, is OK. 

Stephen is doing well and thankful that no one was hurt, according to his representative. He’s grateful for everyone’s concern and confirms that both he and Alec are safe and healthy.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the recent news, and from the photos and videos obtained by TMZ, it appears Alec and Stephen were understandably shaken up after the accident. They were seen talking with responding officers in the rain. I also noticed Alec took a phone call while standing near the damaged car, which unfortunately sustained significant front-end damage. It’s a stressful situation, and it’s natural to see people trying to process things and connect with others.

After the incident, Stephen seemed to go to All American Hamburger Drive In in Massapequa, New York. He posted a video to his Instagram Story that afternoon showing him ordering a hamburger, fries, and a drink.

Just before the accident, the Baldwin brothers were at the Hamptons International Film Festival promoting their podcast, *One Bad Movie*. Stephen hosts the podcast, and Alec has been a guest on several episodes.

Alec and Stephen Baldwin became well-known actors in the 1980s and 90s, just like their brothers Daniel, 65, and Billy, 62. They also have two sisters, Elizabeth Baldwin Keuchler, 69, and Jane Baldwin Sasso, 60, who grew up alongside them. While Alec and Stephen haven’t appeared in a movie or TV show with each other, they share a family history of acting success.

In 2012, Stephen told *Vanity Fair* they still couldn’t believe how famous they’d become. He described his family as simply “four not-very-bright athletes from Long Island.”

Alec Baldwin, who also shares 29-year-old daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger, has been thinking about how his children are having experiences similar to those he had growing up.

Alec Baldwin, the Emmy-winning actor born on April 3, 1958, is the son of Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr. and Carol Newcomb. He’s one of six children and the eldest brother in his family.

The Baldwin brothers were born over a six-year period, starting with Daniel Baldwin on October 5, 1960. William “Billy” Baldwin followed on February 21, 1963, and Stephen Baldwin, the youngest, was born on May 12, 1966.

Alec shared that his mother instilled in him the idea that people can always reinvent themselves. In a tribute after her passing, he wrote that she spent the last quarter-century of her life passionately advocating for a cause she deeply cared about, becoming a true champion for it.

Alec was married to Oscar winner Kim Basinger from 1993 until 2002.

Their daughter Ireland Baldwin was born Oct. 23. 1995.

Alec married Hilaria Baldwin (née Thomas) on June 30, 2012.

Oh my gosh, they have *seven* beautiful children now! There’s Carmen Gabriela, born August 23, 2013, and then Rafael Thomas came along on June 17, 2015. Daniel shares daughter Kahlea, born in 1984, with first wife Cheryl. They divorced in 1989.

The actor has a daughter named Alexandra with his second wife, Elizabeth. They were married from 1990 to 1996.

Daniel and Isabella Hoffman, who both appeared on *Homicide: Life on the Street*, were together from 1996 to 2005 and share a son named Atticus Baldwin.

Daniel was married to model Joanne Smith from 2007 to 2012.

On the anniversary of his diagnosis, Vance shared on social media, according to USA Today, that he had been cancer-free for several months.

On this day two years ago, Billy shared a post reflecting on his son’s journey since being diagnosed with cancer. He described his son as “one of the coolest, toughest kids you’ll ever know.”
