A popular anime is generating buzz online with news of a potential live-action remake. Reports suggest that studios are currently working on bringing the series to life with real actors. This is a significant development for the widely beloved show, which remains a hit with viewers and continues to be a major topic among fans.
Live-action Chainsaw Man adaptation in works
A live-action version of the popular anime and manga series *Chainsaw Man* is reportedly being made. The news came from film insider @MyTimeToShineHello, who announced it on X (formerly Twitter) on October 14th. While the project seems to be in early stages, details like the studio, director, and actors haven’t been revealed. As of now, neither the animation studio MAPPA nor publisher Shueisha has confirmed the adaptation.
The movie *Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc* is continuing to do well, particularly in Asia. Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and written by Hiroshi Seko, the film is based on the “Reze” story arc from the original manga. It recently topped the box office in Korea over the weekend of October 10-12, earning $2.4 million, and has now made a total of $13.7 million since its release on September 24, according to data from KOBIS.
At New York Comic Con, Masato Nakazono, Manabu Otsuka, and Yusuke Tannawa talked about how the movie was made. They shared that they added to the original manga’s conversations and improved the artwork to make the story even better for the big screen.
Nakazono shared that the team focused on capturing the heart of the original manga. Otsuka added that the movie picks up where the anime’s first season left off (according to The Hollywood Reporter). Director Yoshihara compared the action to a thrilling amusement park ride, and highlighted the intense energy and emotional connection between the characters Denji and Reze.
The news about the live-action series comes as Chainsaw Man becomes increasingly popular around the world, thanks to Sony Pictures distributing a new film based on the Reze Arc. This anime film will be released in theaters globally on October 24, 2025.
