Charli XCX Addresses Rumor She’s a “Little Bit B–chy”

Charli XCX already knows you’re obsessed. 

The singer, who first became popular with her confident and sometimes edgy “Brat” image, has said she’s still bothered when people think that’s all she is – a stereotypical mean girl.

Charli recently told *Vanity Fair* that she finds it interesting to see how people interpret her personality and share their perceptions. She’s curious about what aspects of her image stick with people and what they overlook. She admitted that she suspects many casual viewers see her as someone who enjoys partying, uses drugs, and can be a bit rude.

Charli, whose full name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, says she’s known for being straightforward, but she believes the most genuine part of her stage performance is simply how chaotic it can be.

Charli believes there’s a connection between imperfection and authenticity. She feels that openly discussing her struggles, while still experiencing them, is what allows her to be genuine and complete. It’s this honesty that defines her.

Charli is aware that being honest can sometimes cause problems for her. She admits she tends to speak openly, and that occasionally leads to trouble.

Recently, Charli XCX has been caught up in rumors of a disagreement with Taylor Swift. Following the release of Taylor Swift’s album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, some fans believe Swift’s song “Actually Romantic” is a response to Charli’s track, “Sympathy is a knife.”

In the song, Taylor recounts a situation where someone, fueled by alcohol, calls her ‘Boring Barbie.’ She describes how this person then celebrated her past relationship ending badly, even going so far as to write a song about being bothered by her very presence.

Charli didn’t address rumors of a disagreement with Taylor Swift, for whom she performed as an opening act during the 2017 Reputation stadium tour, in a recent interview.

Fans who are really paying attention noticed a possible hint about the conflict when Charli unexpectedly joined Role Model on stage during their performance of “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” on *Saturday Night Live* on October 11th.

Charli D’Amelio briefly wore a t-shirt for “Max’s Kansas City” during an appearance. This sparked some fan speculation, as Role Model also wore the same shirt in a promotional video. Some fans interpreted it as a subtle jab at Taylor Swift, given her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.

One fan commented on X (formerly Twitter) on October 12th, jokingly questioning why Charli wore a Kansas City shirt while on Saturday Night Live, despite also being a fan of Taylor Swift.

Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained in an Instagram post.

After years of speculation about a conflict between them, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen’s former co-star on *Charmed*, revealed on her December 2023 podcast, *Let’s Be Clear*, that Alyssa Milano supposedly gave a show producer an ultimatum: choose between her and Shannen. Combs claims this led to Shannen leaving the show in 2001.

In a February 2024 Instagram post, Alyssa stated she couldn’t get anyone fired and that any current accounts of the events were inaccurate because of how much time had passed.

At a MegaCon Orlando panel, Shannen stated that, to her knowledge, the events as they remember them are accurately portrayed and there’s no attempt to rewrite history.

Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Danny Masterson, known from “That ’70s Show,” to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a consistently impolite and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed annoyed when he was a guest on *The Talk* in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.

She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ Her response was sharp: ‘Listen, young man, don’t challenge me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you.’ She essentially told him, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany made on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed being feminine.

As a lifestyle expert, I remember when this whole thing unfolded! Back in 2022, JoJo Siwa shared on TikTok that Candace Cameron Bure was the “rudest” celebrity she’d ever met. It turned out JoJo was upset because Candace had declined to take a photo with her on a red carpet a while back. But Candace quickly apologized, and it was really sweet! She admitted she probably hurt JoJo’s feelings when she was younger and sincerely said, “JoJo, I’m so sorry.”

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday movies, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’s comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful” to the entire LGBTQ+ community.

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional photo without giving credit. Olivia responded with a supportive message, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome! My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on *Watch What Happens Live*, the *Happy Days* actor explained the reason he and the *Forrest Gump* star didn’t get along while filming the 1989 movie *Turner & Hooch*.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, saying I had everything I needed.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to hit it off. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said, “We got along great.”

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

Those who watched *The Hills* probably recall Lauren’s famous line from the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt, and it really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out after the release date for *Fast & Furious 9* was delayed to April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, scheduled for 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave *Fast 9* if Dwayne Johnson remained involved.

Tyrese recently discussed the long-standing conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on *The Red Pill* podcast that he still hasn’t spoken to Johnson directly, though he hopes to. He did mention he had talked with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he was the one who publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others connected to the franchise, and he takes responsibility for that. He said it wasn’t a professional or appropriate thing to do.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, supposedly even sparking Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a dancer and rival concert tours, was resolved when Katy sent Taylor an olive branch as a peace offering before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of *Sex and the City*, successfully dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and subsequently made some pointed remarks about her co-star.

During a September 2017 episode of *Watch What Happens Live*, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.

She was deeply upset, explaining she felt heartbroken about something. She and I had discussed it all week, and she said it didn’t align with how she remembered things happening. She found the situation really disturbing because it didn’t match her recollection of their shared experience.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the unique experience we shared. While it started as a professional endeavor, it became deeply personal over the years. I hope that shared history outweighs any recent disagreements. Having spent so many years doing something meaningful and connecting with people was a real privilege.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

 

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience that he disagreed with the idea of her being considered the best live act, questioning the use of lip-syncing and suggesting performers who do so should face consequences, given the cost of concert tickets.

The actress, formerly on *Grey’s Anatomy*, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained her decision by saying she didn’t believe she’d been given strong enough storylines to deserve a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure during a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on *Oprah’s Next Chapter*. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone shows you their true colors, you should pay attention,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week made headlines everywhere. A month later, Cardi explained what caused the argument with Nicki.

Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.

The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had supposedly reacted to – and then removed her reaction from – a tweet criticizing Cardi’s skills as a mother, though Nicki claims she didn’t do that.

I was set to earn a lot of money from my Bruno Mars tour, but I chose to stay home with my daughter instead,” Cardi explained. “I love my daughter, and I’m a really good mom. It’s frustrating when people without kids criticize my choices. People say the party wasn’t the right place to see another artist, but I don’t expect to run into someone famous at the grocery store or just walking around town.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.

Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview when Mariah was asked about other singers, and when asked about Jennifer Lopez, she famously said, “I don’t know her.”
