Sony hasn’t released official sales numbers for Sucker Punch’s *Ghost of Tsushima*, but early signs in Europe are very promising. According to data from GSD (reported by Chris Dring of The Game Business) for the week ending October 5th, the game launched at number two in both revenue and units sold, only behind *EA Sports FC 24*.
Despite a strong start, sales are comparable to those of *Ghost of Tsushima* on the PS4, which sold to a larger audience and saw a boost from increased gaming during the COVID-19 pandemic. Analyst Daniel Dring also pointed out that this is Sony’s biggest new first-party game release since *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2*. It’s unclear whether the figures include *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach*, which came out in June.
I’m so excited about *Ghost of Yōtei*! It just came out on October 2nd for PS5, and apparently, it’s already a huge hit – Alinea Analytics says over two million copies were shipped to stores! I’ve been playing it, and honestly, it’s amazing. We gave it a 9/10 in our review, and we loved everything about it – the world is beautiful, the combat is fantastic, and the characters are really well-developed. Seriously, go check it out!
