I have mixed feelings about *Love is Blind*. At its best, it’s a genuinely interesting show about people trying to connect emotionally without being distracted by appearances. But let’s be real, it often devolves into typical reality TV drama. Even when it’s not great, it’s usually pretty entertaining – with maybe a couple of exceptions. Ultimately, that’s what keeps me watching.

It’s really hard to stop watching this show! I think I’ll be watching *Love is Blind* forever, and that’s why I’m starting to worry about its quality. I wish it could be as good as it used to be, but Season 9 is making me doubt that will happen.

I Think The Connections On Love Is Blind Season 9 Feel Disingenuous

Season 9 of *Love is Blind* featured six engaged couples, but it’s hard to see any of them as a truly good fit. While some pairings seem slightly more compatible than others, most of the connections feel forced and inauthentic. It seems like the couples are just going through the motions, either desperately hoping things will improve or trying to stay on TV. It’s frustrating to watch some of these couples because they don’t seem genuinely committed to finding lasting love – I want more for them than they appear to want for themselves. The contestants on *Love is Blind* Season 9 don’t seem to be taking the process seriously, or even looking for marriage. If you’re not truly ready for a lifelong commitment, you shouldn’t go on the show. Several contestants don’t seem to grasp how significant a commitment ‘forever’ really is.

It’s fine if some people just want their moment in the spotlight, but it feels unfair to those who genuinely want to find love and are committed to the process. In the first couple of seasons, it seemed like everyone was serious about finding a partner, and I felt the same way about *Love is Blind: UK*. But Season 9 makes it feel like getting married is just one part of the show, and not the main point. Marriage is really central to what *Love is Blind* is all about. You can find dates on any reality show, but this one works because it’s such a unique and intense way to search for a lasting connection. When contestants don’t seem ready for marriage, it feels like a lack of respect for the show’s core idea.

I Am Worried About The Lack Of Diversity On Love Is Blind Season 9

For a while now, *Love is Blind* has struggled with diversity. While racial diversity has been an issue, the lack of different body types among contestants is particularly noticeable. Given that the show’s concept is about finding love beyond physical appearances, you’d expect to see more inclusivity in terms of both body size and racial backgrounds. Although the show films in Denver, the casting team could have worked harder to find a more diverse group of participants.

Among the six couples who got engaged on the show, only two included someone who is a person of color. Unfortunately, one of those couples broke up after just one day. Seeing diverse representation is important, so I hope the show makes a greater effort to cast a more diverse group of contestants in future seasons.

I Don’t Care About These Couples. Not A Single One

I really enjoy watching couples from *Love is Blind* succeed and build lasting relationships, even start families. Usually, I find at least one couple each season that I’m hoping will make it, because they have good chemistry or seem like they could have a future together. But with Season 9, I don’t feel invested in any of the couples. While some, like Ali and Anton, might have a chance, I just don’t find myself caring about their stories.

It feels like something’s being missed with these couples – they’re not getting the typical reality show experience. Each pairing seems to have its own unhealthy dynamic, making it clear why these relationships might not last. Honestly, I don’t think any of them should get married, and I don’t even want to see it happen. This show, *Love is Blind*, just doesn’t seem like the right place for them to find lasting love.

I Feel Like The Show Is Losing What Made It Special

I have the same worries about Season 9 of *Love is Blind* that I’ve had with past seasons – it’s become a recurring problem. The show used to work because it felt possible to fall in love without seeing someone, as long as both people were truly open to finding love and willing to put in the effort.
