Becoming a top WWE star isn’t easy, and one of the biggest hurdles is creating a truly memorable finishing move. With so many iconic moves already used, it’s tough to come up with something original that also excites the crowd. And even then, you need to actually win matches with it! Historically, some finishing moves have been carefully ‘protected’ – meaning they weren’t used too often to maintain their impact. While that’s less common now, those moves still exist. That’s why we’re listing the three most protected finishers in WWE today, and here’s what we considered when making our list.
The most important factor in making this list is that the move is currently used as a finishing move by an active WWE wrestler. Because of this, even though The Undertaker appears on WWE television often, his signature Chokeslam isn’t included. Also, to be considered, a move needs to reliably end matches. Popular finishers like Cross Rhodes, the RKO, and the Spear are frequently kicked out of, meaning they don’t consistently secure a win, and therefore aren’t on the list either.
3. Sol Ruca (Sol Snatcher)
Coming in at number 3 is Sol Ruca, a rising star in WWE. She’s currently holding two championships in WWE NXT and recently impressed fans on SmackDown with her debut. Ruca quickly stood out with a unique and powerful finishing move called the Sol Snatcher.
Ruca is a relatively new wrestler in WWE, having joined about three years ago, but she’s quickly become known for a really exciting finishing move. Because of her gymnastics training, she either runs and jumps from the top rope or leaps and performs a forward flip into a cutter, powerfully bringing her opponent down with a lot of flair.
Ruca’s signature move quickly became a fan favorite after appearing on TV, and it’s now a highlight of every match she’s in. WWE has even added variations, like when she performs it on two opponents simultaneously. Because the move is so popular, it’s become a guaranteed win for Ruca – she rarely loses when she lands it. This trend is expected to continue when she officially joins the main WWE roster.
2. Aleister Black (Black Mass)
Aleister Black recently returned to WWE and immediately showcased the power of his signature finishing move. He knocked out The Miz with a strong kick to the head, instantly reminding fans of his dominant run in NXT, where that same move consistently defeated opponents.
Black Mass isn’t a complicated move, but it’s incredibly effective because of how it’s performed. Black has perfected it – the kick is clean, fluid, and delivered with such force that it always looks devastating, like it could knock someone out.
WWE made a smart choice by keeping Aleister Black’s finishing move, the Black Mass, strong. Even though his recent storylines haven’t always been clear, the move itself still looks incredibly powerful and damaging against anyone, including opponents like Damian Priest. Black could benefit from a few more victories, but the Black Mass remains a devastating maneuver, and when he lands it, it usually means a win is coming.
1. Bianca Belair (K.O.D. – Kiss of Death)
Topping our list is Bianca Belair and her incredible finishing move, the K.O.D. (also known as the Kiss of Death). It’s become the most reliable and well-protected finishing move in WWE, and Belair consistently delivers it with amazing impact.
Belair executes a powerful finishing move where she lifts her opponent onto her shoulders, flips them, and drives them face-first into the mat. It’s a combination of a powerful lift and a face-first powerbomb, demonstrating both Belair’s strength and versatility. Remarkably, she can perform this move on wrestlers of any size, and each opponent reacts to it differently, making the move uniquely impactful every time.
Bianca Belair’s K.O.D. finisher is surprisingly well-protected, meaning opponents rarely kick out of it after it’s applied. While moves like the RKO or Curb Stomp are more famous, the K.O.D. has a higher success rate – opponents almost never recover. This has been true for years, and it’s expected to continue when Belair returns, making the K.O.D. currently the most reliably impactful finishing move in WWE.
