Thanos is the most terrifying villain in the Marvel Universe, striking fear into entire planets. He relentlessly destroys anything that stands in his way, valuing power above all else and showing no regard for life. Even his own life seems unimportant to him, as he welcomes death as a reunion with his beloved, Mistress Death. Unlike other cosmic threats like Galactus, who destroys to survive, Thanos kills simply because it’s his nature, making him a sworn enemy to every hero in the universe.
Thanos is an incredibly strong villain, no matter the universe. If he entered the DC Multiverse, he’d face a whole new set of enemies, and while some might stand a chance against him, others wouldn’t. Here are seven DC heroes who would be easily defeated by the Mad Titan.
7) Aquaman
Aquaman is a powerful and skilled leader, often underestimated in terms of his strength and fighting ability. As an Atlantean, he possesses incredible strength and can withstand a lot of damage. He’s faced huge threats alongside the Justice League, but a battle against Thanos would be his greatest challenge. While Aquaman might be physically stronger, Thanos’s ability to control cosmic energy would give him a significant edge. Thanos could potentially defeat Aquaman with a powerful energy blast before he could even get close. Aquaman is a seasoned warrior and would certainly put up a fight, but ultimately, Thanos’s power is too much for him to overcome.
6) Big Barda
Big Barda is an incredibly skilled fighter from New Genesis, having been trained by Granny Goodness to lead the Female Furies of Apokolips. She’s the strongest of that group, and her love for Scott Free helped her escape and fight against Darkseid. While Barda is super strong and nearly invulnerable, Thanos is simply on another level. Although DC characters generally have higher strength levels, Thanos’s cosmic powers would likely give him the edge in a fight. She’s powerful, but lacks the ability to significantly harm someone as durable as Thanos.
5) Zatanna
DC Comics features many powerful magic users, and Zatanna is among the best. She’s often the Justice League’s first choice when magical help is needed, and has been a recurring member of the team for years. Zatanna casts spells by speaking backwards, making her incredibly powerful, but she’s also relatively fragile. Because she’s essentially a normal human, she can be easily hurt by DC’s strongest villains.
Zatanna is incredibly powerful – she could even incinerate Thanos with her magic. However, she needs to stay alive long enough to use it, and Thanos’s own energy attacks are a serious threat. Unlike Thanos, Zatanna isn’t a naturally aggressive fighter, which will likely put her at a disadvantage. While a quick, all-out attack *might* injure Thanos enough to buy her some time, she typically prefers a more measured approach. Unfortunately, Thanos is so powerful he’d likely destroy her with a blast before she could fully unleash her spells.
4) Firestorm
Firestorm is an incredibly powerful member of the Justice League, boasting abilities like super strength, the power to withstand attacks, flight, and control over nuclear energy. He can even manipulate matter at a molecular level, letting him create almost anything he understands. Despite his immense power, he wouldn’t be able to defeat Thanos.
Firestorm’s biggest weakness is how he’s created: he’s a combination of two people – typically a teenager like Ronnie Raymond or Jason Rousch, and the professor Martin Stein. Usually, the teen is the one in control, with Stein offering guidance. However, Thanos would easily defeat Firestorm. He’s far too strong, calculating, and merciless. He’d exploit the inexperience of whoever is piloting Firestorm, leading to a quick victory.
3) Barry Allen
Barry Allen, also known as the Flash, is a founding member of the Justice League and a remarkably skilled speedster in the DC Universe. He’s consistently overcome incredibly powerful enemies, though he isn’t the *most* powerful Flash. Barry uses his scientific knowledge to enhance his speed and attacks. However, his kind nature would prevent him from delivering the decisive blow needed to defeat Thanos. While other Flashes possess the raw power to win, Barry wouldn’t be willing to escalate to the necessary speeds or use the level of force required. He’d rely on his usual tactics, giving Thanos an opening to strike. Barry would fight valiantly, but ultimately wouldn’t be able to defeat Thanos.
2) Batman
Batman is known as one of DC’s strongest heroes, famous for always finding a way to succeed. He’s even created strategies to defeat the entire Justice League, relying on gadgets and technology to overcome opponents with superpowers. He also uses powerful armor to level the playing field. However, when it comes to Thanos, Batman wouldn’t stand a chance. The Eternals are incredibly durable with no obvious weaknesses, and Thanos wouldn’t hesitate to kill Batman quickly. Frankly, Batman simply doesn’t have the means to stop him.
1) Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman is a highly skilled and beloved DC hero, and a fight between her and Thanos would be fascinating. While Wonder Woman is likely physically stronger and faster, Thanos’s incredible cosmic powers and durability – stemming from his Eternal lineage – would even the odds. They’d engage in a brutal battle, but Thanos’s energy attacks would likely be the deciding factor. He could overwhelm Wonder Woman with strikes she struggles to counter, eventually wearing her down. It would be a devastating fight for both, but Thanos’s greater stamina and powerful attacks would ultimately give him the victory.
