The fourth season of Professor T, which has already been shown in the US, will now air on ITV1 and ITVX at a later date than originally planned this autumn.
As a huge fan, I was disappointed to read on TV Zone that we’ll have to wait until 2026 for the new season. It means a bit of a longer wait to find out how the Professor and everyone else is dealing with the shocking loss of DS Lisa Donckers, but hopefully it’ll be worth it!
An exact date for the show’s return has not yet been confirmed.
Ben Miller, Frances de la Tour, and Juliet Stevenson are returning for the fourth season. Joining them is Zoë Wanamaker, who will play Zelda Radclyffe, the sister of Adelaide and aunt of the professor.
Barney White, Sunetra Sarker, and Rhian Blundell are returning to reprise their roles as part of the police team.
Fans are eagerly anticipating not only season 4, but also season 5, which has already been confirmed for production this year.
As a huge fan of Professor T, I was absolutely delighted to hear that Miller announced they’re officially starting work on a fifth season! He said he was ‘beyond thrilled,’ and honestly, that sums up how I feel too. It’s great news for anyone who loves a good, clever crime drama.
It’s been a real pleasure working with such a skilled and wonderful team, even on a hot set! We’re incredibly excited for audiences to finally see what we’ve created in series 4 later this year. This time around, the Professor faces his most challenging mystery yet – love!
It’s incredibly gratifying that people all over the world have loved the show, and we’re already full of exciting ideas for season 5 – we plan to make it even more unique, touching, and full of unexpected moments.
Professor T seasons 1-3 are available to stream now on ITVX.
