Bandai Namco is hinting at a new *Dragon Ball* game and has announced when they’ll officially reveal it. It’s been about a year since the release of their last *Dragon Ball* game, *Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero*, which was very successful. While another *Dragon Ball* game was expected given the franchise’s popularity, it’s great to have official confirmation and some initial details.
Bandai Namco will reveal a new *Dragon Ball* game at *Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri* on January 25, 2026. While that’s not for a while, the event is early in the year, and the announcement will happen at 11:00 AM Japan Standard Time.
A New Dragon Ball Game
An official Dragon Ball game account has announced that a new Dragon Ball game is in development and will be revealed in January at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in Japan.
That’s all the information available right now. Bandai Namco hasn’t shared any details about the game, but fans are already speculating about what it might be.
What Could It Be
Dragon Ball fans can likely rule out another fighting game for now, considering *Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO* came out last year and *Dragon Ball FighterZ* is still being updated. A new open-world RPG similar to *Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot* is a possibility, given its success and how long it’s been since its release – a sequel could even be in the works. It’s also been nine years since *Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2*, so Bandai Namco might finally be considering *Xenoverse 3*, as the *Xenoverse* games have consistently been strong sellers. Of course, there’s always the chance of something completely different. While a new mobile game was recently announced and previously leaked, fans can safely assume this upcoming mystery project isn’t it.
With the *Dragon Ball* anime celebrating its 40th anniversary next year, many fans are hoping Bandai Namco will release a significant new video game to mark the occasion. However, this is just speculation at this point.
We’d love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment below or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum. What kind of game do you think this mysterious title will be?
