It’s been two years since the release of Starfield, Bethesda’s space-exploration RPG. Despite being available on Xbox and PC, a version for the PlayStation 5 hasn’t been released yet. While many players have enjoyed the game on other platforms, PS5 owners are still hoping to experience it. Although rumors of a PS5 port have been circulating, Bethesda hasn’t confirmed a release date, and recent reports suggest fans may have to wait quite a while longer.
For a while, people have been predicting that Starfield might come to the PS5 by 2026. This made sense because other games from Bethesda, like the remastered Oblivion, are now available on PlayStation. With Starfield recently reaching its two-year mark, many thought a PS5 version was likely. However, according to a trustworthy source named NateTheHate, Bethesda won’t reveal any new platforms for the game until next year. But there is some positive news coming as well.
Starfield PS5 Port Likely to be Announced in 2026, Alongside Possible Switch 2 Version
NateTheHate, a source known for reliable leaks, recently said he expects an announcement about Starfield coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026, though he added that this could change.
Believe the announcement will be in 2026 unless plans change.

While the announcement is exciting, it doesn’t tell us exactly when we’ll be able to play Starfield on PS5. Bethesda has surprised us with sudden releases before, like with Oblivion Remastered earlier this year, so it’s possible the game could be announced and released in 2026 on the same day. However, there could also be a significant wait between the announcement and the actual release. Until Bethesda officially confirms their plans, everything remains based on rumors and speculation.
A well-known insider, NatetheHate, has predicted that Starfield will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, in addition to a PlayStation 5 release. If accurate, Bethesda will likely announce and launch both versions around the same time. The Switch 2 appears to be aiming to overcome the previous model’s lack of major RPGs, and including a popular title like Starfield would be a significant boost.
Besides Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, another Bethesda game, Starfield, is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. It will also be available on PlayStation 5, and the game allows you to explore planets you see.

I’ve been following NateTheHate for a while now, and he’s usually right about these things, but we still don’t know for sure. If his prediction about a 2026 announcement is correct, it probably means we’ll have to wait a few more months before Bethesda officially tells us if Starfield is coming to other platforms. The good news is they’ve already said a new expansion is in the works, so 2026 could be a really exciting year for Starfield fans like me!
Although there’s speculation about Starfield coming to more consoles, Bethesda has confirmed they’re creating a new expansion. This DLC is particularly important because the last one received a mixed response, and players have been wanting certain improvements. We don’t have details yet, but it’s likely to launch around the same time as the game’s release on PlayStation 5 and potentially the Switch 2 next year. Hopefully, this expansion will make the Starfield universe feel more full and engaging.
