Ellen DeGeneres is living the country life.
The talk show host recently gave fans a glimpse of her cozy English home in a video showing her two dogs, Sport and Kid, playing in the living room she shares with her wife, Portia De Rossi, in the Cotswolds.
Ellen shared a video on Instagram on October 19th with the caption, ‘They finally understand!’ She explained that everyone in the family had been feeling down since their dog, Augie, passed away. But their new dog, Sport, has brought happiness back into their home, and itās wonderful to see her son, Kid, playing happily again ā even if his way of playing is a little different.
While filming some playful puppies, 67-year-old Ellen gave viewers a glimpse of her beautiful home, including its stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the English countryside. Fans also noticed a large rug in her living room, topped with a long glass table that seemed to be covered in books and small decorative items.
Behind the couch and dog beds, you could find a wooden dining table with eight chairs and a staircase going upstairs. Across the room was another large couch, a few armchairs, and a long, comfortable bench.
Ellen and Portia, married since 2008, moved to England in November 2024. They recently traded their $30 million home for a different property nearby, giving Portia, age 52, more space for her horses.
Ellen explained to The Wall Street Journal in July that when they chose to make this their permanent home, it was essential to have space for Portiaās horses. “We needed a property with a barn and enough land for them to graze,” she said.
And the talk show host and Arrest Development alum are loving life in the country.
Oh my gosh, seriously, I was practically screaming when I heard Ellen say that! It’s SO true! She was talking about Italy, and she just gets it, you know? She said we’re just not used to seeing this level of beauty, and I completely lost it! She was with Richard Bacon, apparently, but honestly, I didn’t even register who he was, I was too focused on her describing everything ā the little towns, the buildings, everything just being soā¦charming! It really is a simpler way of life there, and she nailed it. I knew she’d understand! It’s justā¦perfect.
She said she loves how clean and well-maintained everything is, and especially appreciates the kind treatment of animals and the politeness of the people. She feels itās a much better place overall.
