Attention, Stranger Things fans! Get ready – the fifth and final season is coming! Matthew Belloni of Puck reports that the two-hour finale of Stranger Things will likely premiere in AMC and other movie theaters on New Year’s Eve, the same day it’s released on Netflix. While the deal isn’t officially finalized yet, sources say it’s moving forward. If confirmed, this would give the popular show a grand send-off on the big screen, satisfying fans and fulfilling a wish of the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer. They recently told Variety that the final episode should be seen in theaters.
Viewers often don’t realize the huge amount of work that goes into creating high-quality audio and visuals, and what they see is often a compressed version. But it’s also about sharing that experience live with other fans – that’s a big part of what’s missing.
