Billy Joel is dreaming of how wonderful his daughter’s life will be.

Billy Joel celebrated his daughter Remy’s 8th birthday with a heartfelt message. He shares Remy with his wife, Alexis Roderick Joel.

Billy shared a birthday message for Remy Roo on Instagram on October 22nd, writing, “We love you so much and are so proud of you!”

Along with a heartfelt birthday message, the 76-year-old sent many photos of Remy. These included pictures of her dressed as an elf, posing in a pumpkin patch, and wearing a “Happy Birthday” headband. There was also a cute photo of her with her sister, Della Rose, sitting at their dad’s piano on stage, and even a picture of baby Remy with her parents in the hospital.

Being an involved father is particularly meaningful to Billy, who shares 39-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel with his ex-wife, Christie Brinkley. This is especially true because he didn’t have a close relationship with his own father, Howard Joel.

The award-winning artist told People magazine in July that becoming a father was incredibly meaningful, especially because he grew up without one. He emphasized how important it was for him to be a dad, given his own childhood experience.

And he’s relishing the opportunity to be a girl dad.

He expressed his love for his daughters, noting with amusement that he only had girls. He shared that experiencing this – having a family of daughters – was a lifelong dream come true, and he was thrilled to be living it.

Plus, he’s actually enjoyed being an older dad, as it means he’s had more time with Della and Remy.

He told the Los Angeles Times in 2023 that he loves spending time with his kids. He finds them fun and fascinating, and enjoys being a stay-at-home dad, which is how he currently finds fulfillment in life.

Billy Joel, who recently canceled his summer tour due to a health issue, also marked his daughter Della’s birthday in August. He shared a heartwarming old video of her as a child searching for his song, “Piano Man.”

In an old video, a young Della explains she was searching for her father near the motorcycles. She then mimics his cough, adding, “I just heard him.”

Della then heads upstairs to Billy sitting at his desk, greeting her dad with, “Hi Piano Man.”

To which Billy laughed and replied, “Hi Singing Girl.”
