Jeremy Renner Got Real About How He ‘Connected’ With The Cast In London While Avengers: Doomsday Was Filming, And I Can’t Help But Wonder About The Timing

Everyone knows the original Avengers cast remains close. With Avengers: Doomsday scheduled for release in 2026, it’s great to see the original team supporting the actors who are returning for the new film. I recently asked Jeremy Renner how his former co-stars stay connected, and his story about meeting up with them in London makes me think something exciting might be happening soon.

It’s widely known that filming for Avengers: Doomsday has been underway in London for some time. Over the past year, Jeremy Renner has been busy with Season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown and promoting his memoir, My Next Breath. He recently finished a book tour, including a stop in London, where he had a chance to connect with some of the cast of the new Marvel film. He shared details about this get-together during a recent interview with TopMob.

I had a fantastic time reconnecting with some really close friends recently. I was actually in London promoting my book while they were filming, so it was great to finally sit down and catch up with the whole cast. We’ve become like family, honestly – a truly special group. It doesn’t matter if we’re working on a project together or not, we’ll always have that bond.

Jeremy Renner Shares What Hawkeye Has Been Up To Prior To Avengers: Doomsday

I asked Jeremy Renner about Robert Downey Jr.’s support for his book and if he’d had a chance to discuss the movie Doomsday with the actor. He told me they didn’t just talk – he actually met with some of the cast in London while they were filming.

The actor from The Hurt Locker was in London in mid-June promoting his book, My Next Breath. He held an event at Cadogan Hall on June 12th and also used the trip to reconnect with the team working on Doomsday.

Honestly, after seeing everything, I can’t help but think there’s more to the story. The Avengers: Doomsday livestream showed us a huge list of heroes who’ll be in the next Marvel movie, but that hasn’t stopped fans – including me – from wondering who else might show up. There are so many theories going around!

Okay, so everyone’s been wondering if Jeremy Renner will be back as Hawkeye in the MCU, right? Back in July 2024 – even before all the talk from his livestream – he hinted to Us Weekly that he’d likely participate in projects like Doomsday and Secret Wars if they could make it work. And just recently, when asked directly about playing Hawkeye again, he said he’s always up for it. Basically, he seems pretty open to returning if Marvel finds a way!

It’s possible he’ll return, and his recent trip to London to promote his book has me wondering if he might be in Doomsday. There’s no official confirmation and he’s not currently listed in the cast, but the timing seems suspicious, and I’m hoping to see another original Avenger join the team.

Disney+ subscriptions start at $11.99 per month with ads. If you’re a Marvel fan and want to watch the movies and shows in order, Disney+ is the place to be. You can stream everything from the original Avengers film to series like Hawkeye and Daredevil: Born Again. See the deal here.

Several stars from the 2012 Avengers film are joining the cast of Doomsday, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Hiddleston. Actors who appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, such as Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, and Anthony Mackie, will also be featured. Plus, the movie will include characters from the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Thunderbolts (which are essentially the New Avengers).

Even with a huge cast already announced, fans are still speculating about surprise appearances. We’ll find out who makes the cut when Doomsday is released on December 18, 2026. Beyond the confirmed actors, it seems likely that stars like Jeremy Renner will support each other and show up for the premiere, just as they did when he visited London – whether they have roles in the movie or not.
