Savannah Guthrie Has Wardrobe Malfunction With Her Spanx on Live TV

Savannah Guthrie isn’t interested in wearing cozy sweaters this fall season. 

She recently sported a leather look, but not by choice! While co-hosting Today with Jenna & Friends on October 23rd, the television personality experienced a slight wardrobe mishap with her faux leather leggings.

Okay, let me tell you, Savannah looked amazing on today’s show! I actually said to her right at the beginning, ‘Hold on, you are looking hot!’ She styled her outfit with a classic black blazer and some really cool, chunky heels – a total power look, and she absolutely nailed it.

Before Savannah, 53, even had a chance to talk about what she was wearing, she pointed out the rip in her pants.

She laughed and pointed to a tear in her Spanx, lifting her leg to show it. “I’ve got a hole in my pleather Spanx!” she exclaimed.

Savannah, who has two children – 11-year-old Vale and 8-year-old Charles – with her husband Michael Feldman, didn’t explain what went wrong, but she jokingly mentioned it and said she felt she needed to bring it up. She maintained that playful attitude even behind the scenes, teasing that she’ll be in charge during Bon Jovi’s next tour.

She playfully pretended to mispronounce the material of her leggings in a video shared on Today’s Radio Show, jokingly saying “leather, weather!” before correcting herself. “Actually, it’s pleather, pleather weather,” she said, clarifying that they were, in fact, Spanx leggings.

Savannah isn’t new to publicly acknowledging her mistakes on NBC’s morning show. She recently apologized for a 2012 interview with Khloe Kardashian, where she questioned Kardashian about rumors concerning her biological father’s identity.

She remembered a moment on the October 20th episode of Today when they planned to address rumors questioning her father’s identity. She felt incredibly embarrassed, especially because she’d just started the job and believed the producers wanted her to ask the sensitive question, but she was hesitant to do so.

Despite what happened, the 41-year-old Kardashian said she doesn’t see the situation as a bad thing.

Khloe commented on an Instagram post about Savannah’s apology, saying it takes a lot of character to take responsibility and that she really admires Savannah for doing so.

The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger, joking that she was willing to try ‘just about anything.’

Asked how much she could eat, she said, “Perhaps just a small bite.” She added that a full bowl would be too much for her.

I was watching The Jennifer Hudson Show recently, back in April 2025, and they asked the artist behind “Save Me” about his most embarrassing moment. Honestly, he was so open and shared a really funny story – he didn’t hold back at all!

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

He firmly believed it was just a harmless prank. “I sincerely apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience turn from supportive to completely against me.”
